The Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan on Monday in Hague, the Netherlands capital assured world leaders Nigeria’s commitment to the global fight against threat posed by nuclear terrorism. This, he noted, is the reason why Nigeria, under his leadership has continued to pursue efforts to harness nuclear energy and technology, apart from socio-economic development.
Speaking at the third global security summit which opened in that country yesterday, Jonathan said, while Nigeria will continue to support all efforts against the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, the world must respect the right of countries to the peaceful use of nuclear energy for development purposes.
