NIGERIA, NORWAY TO DEEPEN COOPERATION ON FISHERIES DEVELOPMENT - PRESIDENCY

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja said Nigeria and Norway, a major fish exporting country, will work together to deepen their agricultural cooperation, particularly on fish farming and fisheries development.

Speaking at a farewell audience with the outgoing Ambassador of Norway to Nigeria, Ambassador Rolf Ree, President Buhari said his administration will continue to promote agriculture as an alternative revenue earner for the country.

The President welcomed the humanitarian aid provided by Norway and some European Union member countries in support of Internally Displaced Persons in the country.

FG WILL NOT FALL FOR ANTICS OF FRAUDSTERS ON RELEASE OF CHIBOK GIRLS - PRESIDENT BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari said Friday in Abuja that while the rescue and safe return of the remaining Chibok girls remains a top priority of his administration, he will not fall for the antics of fraudsters who have been asking the Federal Government for money to negotiate the release the girls.

Receiving the Primate and Archbishops of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) at the State House, President Buhari said that his administration will continue to insist on a thorough authentication of the identities and bona fides of any persons or groups claiming to have custody of the girls before entering into negotiations with them.

Environmental Restoration Programme: VP Osinbajo Launches ogoni clean up

At the beginning of this administration, President Muhammadu Buhari promised the implementation of the 2011 UNEP report.

The journey to the fulfilment of that promise began today when on behalf of President Buhari, the Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo formally launched the clean-up and environmental restoration programme in Ogoniland.

"I pray that the restoration of Ogoniland will not only be for the environment but for the health, prosperity and future of the Ogoni people."
