Edo State Assembly Speaker, Deputy Impeached

The Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly have been impeached.

Both men were removed on Tuesday.

It is not clear why the Speaker of the House, Honourable Victor Edoror and his Deputy, Honourable Festus Ebea were impeached.

 Both lawmakers are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were accused of misconduct.

Edo deputy speaker, four others suspended for Misconducts

The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Festus Ebea, and three other members of the Edo State House of assembly has been reportedly suspended on the ground of misconduct by the Assembly. The suspension of the Deputy Speaker was said to be inevitable owing to his arrogance, dictatorship and disrespect for the office of the Speaker of the House, Uyi Igbe.

A total Number of 11 Assembly members were present at the sitting where the lawmakers were suspended under section 38 rules three of the House Rules.
