Referendum results in Donetsk and Lugansk Regions show landslide support for self-rule.

The results of referendums have been announced in Donetsk and Lugansk Regions, showing the majority of voters support self-rule, amid an intensified military operation by Kiev which resulted in several deaths.

Almost 90 percent of voters in Donetsk Region have endorsed political independence from Kiev, the head of the Central Election Commission of the self-proclaimed ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’, Roman Lyagin, announced.

President Vladimir Putin of the Russia Federation has called the U.S. President Barack Obama on Friday to discuss a U.S. proposal for Ukraine


White House confirmed his call, adding that President Obama mandated him that Russia must pull back its troops from Ukraine's boarder and not move deeper any more.

The United State President, Mr  Barack Obama has on Friday said, Putin must "move back" the Russian troops from the Ukraine border and start negotiating saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to assemble forces on the Ukrainian border may "simply be an effort to intimidate Ukraine, or it may be that they've got additional plans."
