"Food for thought for the lunatics ruling Nigeria and Africa...

On January 20, immediately after Donald Trump’s inauguration, the Obama family moved to a rented apartment after spending eight years at the White House. The Obamas don't own a house till date. Also, Obama paid for groceries from toothpaste to toilet papers and dry cleaning from his own pocket. Even the family vacation was not free. Similarly, after the ceremony, Joe Biden, Obama’s deputy, carrying his own brief case, took the famous Amtrak Acela Express train to get back to his hometown Wilmington. Poor people! Aren’t they?

Trump's transition team studying new sanctions to implement on Iran

Trump Names General James Mattis as Secretary of Defense Nominee

(Reuters) - Donald Trump's transition team is examining proposals for new non-nuclear sanctions on Iran, the Financial Times reported on Friday, citing congressional sources who have been in contact with the president-elect's team.

Officials with Trump's team have been in touch with fellow Republicans in Congress, where they hold the majority, to discuss possible sanctions separate from last year's Iran nuclear deal that could focus on its ballistic missile program or human rights, the sources told the FT.

"They (Trump team members) are already looking closely at their options - and that very much includes non-nuclear sanctions," a congressional official told the media outlet.

President Obama itches for Trump fight

President Barack Obama

Obama can’t wait to take on Donald Trump.

President Barack Obama has been largely sidelined in the presidential contest, a last-year officeholder with high approval ratings who has repeatedly shown he likes to spar with political foes.

With Bernie Sanders continuing to slug it out with likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Obama largely has to choose his openings to talk 2016.

So on Friday, when the White House announced Obama would make a statement about the economy, the president knew he’d get asked about Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.

And when he did, Obama was ready.

US Barack Obama commutes prison sentences of 58 people

U.S. President Barack Obama has commuted the prison terms of 58 people, nearly a third of whom were serving life sentences, the White House said on Thursday.

Most of the convicts who will be freed early were non-violent drug offenders.

Obama said in a blog post that "it just doesn’t make sense to require a non-violent drug offender to serve 20 years, or in some cases, life, in prison."

Barack Obama to meet UK Labour leader Corbyn Today - White House

U.S. President Barack Obama will meet Jeremy Corbyn, left-wing leader of Britain's opposition Labour Party, in London on Saturday (today), the White House said on Friday.

It gave no details about the meeting, which it said would be closed to the media.

Obama injects himself into contentious debate over whether Britain should exit the EU.  Obama earlier intervened in the debate over Britain's EU membership, urging Britons to vote to remain in the bloc in a June referendum and warning that if they left they would be at the back of the queue for a U.S. trade deal.

US Presidency: Donald Trump revealed as Russia's preferred choice

There is only one country which would like to see Donald Trump enter the White House - and it’s not the US.

According to a new survey from YouGov for the Handelsblatt Global Edition, Russia is the only major economy in the world that prefers the Republican, yellow-haired candidate over Hillary Clinton.

The survey polled more than 20,000 adults in every G20 country. The results show that Mr Trump leads by 21 points in Russia, while Ms Clinton claims more than 21 points over her rival in 15 other countries.

The same survey shows that 79 per cent of Russians are dissatisfied with their economic situation - only second to South Korea - yet 74 per cent of Russians vote for their president Vladimir Putin as the most trusted leader.
