MOSCOW, Feb 9 (Reuters) - A gunman opened fire in a cathedral on the Russian island of Sakhalin, off the country's eastern coast, on Sunday, killing a nun and a churchgoer and wounding six other people, state-run news agency RIA reported.
Interfax reported that the suspected attacker was detained after the shooting, and said he worked for a private security company. The shooting happened days after a teenager killed a teacher and a policeman in what was the first major school shooting in Russia. (Writing by Steve Gutterman; Editing by Robin Pomeroy)
