Yesterday in Lagos, a military officer was accidentally killed by a bus on an express-way stipulated only for the buses to operate on. To show their disrespect for the law and public conscience, they went on bashing innocent drivers as well as smashing and setting fire to buses. This is a clear barbaric and primitive characteristic of our military. They burnt BRT buses worth more than 100 millions naira.
The Nigerian military and other security agencies that have this "haughty mentality" should know that the civilians are the bedrock of their existence in service because they (security men) are being employed and paid solely to protect the lives and properties of the people.
They should also know that everyone is born peaceful but can turn violent anytime due to circumstances. Thus, they should be afraid of the day when the common civilians will turn violent and settle their scores with them.
Finally, I would like to urge the Lagos State Government to drag those gormless military to court so as to seek redress and deter them from committing this kind of animalism and barbarism in the future!
