More details have emerged that over 10 people are now confirmed death when the makeshift bridge constructed by the APC led government of Sen. Ajumobi collapsed. The victims were said to have drowned.
Witnesses said the bridge that links the outer community with Apete was submerged by water after the rain late on Saturday and that the victims were residents of the community who were returning home.The rain which started at about 5:00 pm, lasted a few hours and when it subsided, some of the residents who tried to use the bridge slipped into the river and were washed away.”Having deliberately refused to heed calls to repair the bridge, the Ajumobi led government should be held responsible for these needless deaths.
