The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned one Salami Oladimeji Ayodeji before Justice R. O. Dugbo-Oghoghorie at the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu, for allegedly swindling one Barrister Uche Nwokocha of the sum of N270, 000.00, under the pretence that he was going to use the said sum to procure and stamp Nigerian Immigration documents for the brother in-law who is based in the United Kingdom and to courier same to the said in-law.
While taking his plea, the accused pleaded not guilty on all counts of the six count charge preferred against him by the EFCC.
In view of his plea, the prosecuting counsel Barrister F. A. I. Asemebor, then prayed the court to adjourn for the prosecution to open its case, “my lord, I humbly pray the court to adjourn for the prosecution to open our case for trial to commence fully” said Asemebor.
