The Fantastically Corrupt Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Former Executive Governor of Delta State, who was arrested in Dubai and extradited to United Kingdom to face criminal proceedings for money laundering is now back. 

The man is finally back home, having completed his jail term in far away Britain. During his arrival, as our team began to upload the pictures of the superlative and befitting welcome back from jail, he received from his people, we were at loss!

HMMNNN!!! So, all these people went out there to welcome back a convicted and jailed thief! No wonder, Delta State is grossly underdeveloped when compared with the amount of money in billions acruing to the State as allocation from Federal Government. Delta State being an oil producing State, has an allocation far more when compared to a State like Kwara. However, a journey around various communities within that State, reveals so much poverty, backwardness, deprivation and squalor. James Ibori, via his 8 years rule as Executive Governor of Delta State, contributed immensely to ensuring that Delta State Citizens remain poor, yet people of his State celebrated him on his arrival from Prison he served in United Kingdom! 

Buhari’s Doctors, Aides In Tug Of War Over His Possible Return Tomorrow

Presidency sources have said that President Muhammadu Buhari plans to return to Nigeria on Saturday after his test results came in “fine.” 

However, Mr. Buhari’s return remains uncertain as his team of doctors in the United Kingdom has yet to certify him fit to take on the significant burden of his office. 

It was learned that members of Mr. Buhari’s inner circle were pressuring him to return to Nigeria in order to avoid a power vacuum that could scale down their influence. Why Buhari may undergo Chemotherapy treatment for six months to treat acute prostate cancer at Princess Grace Hospital, London

President Muhammadu Buhari is suffering from an acute prostate cancer that has reached metastasis stage and may have to be away from Nigeria for not less than six months to undergo chemotherapy treatment, otherwise known as chemo. Source revealed that the President is being treated at The Princess Grace Hospital, 42–52 Nottingham Place, London collapsed last week when the first medicine was tried on him, forcing his doctors to suspend the chemotherapy treatment immediately.

A medical expert said; “When cancer has reached a metastasis stage, it means that the cancer cells have spread from the primary site of origin (where it started) into different area(s) of the body, including the bones. “Chemotherapy is the use of anti-cancerous drugs designed to shrink and control the size of the cancer while prostatectomy surgery is performed by an urologist to remove the entire prostate in order to remove the cancerous cells.

EFCC ARRAIGNS MAN FOR IMMIGRATION SCAM

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned one Salami Oladimeji Ayodeji before Justice R. O. Dugbo-Oghoghorie at the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu, for allegedly swindling one Barrister Uche Nwokocha of the sum of N270, 000.00, under the pretence that he was going to use the said sum to procure and stamp Nigerian Immigration documents for the brother in-law who is based in the United Kingdom and to courier same to the said in-law.

While taking his plea, the accused pleaded not guilty on all counts of the six count charge preferred against him by the EFCC. 

In view of his plea, the prosecuting counsel Barrister F. A. I. Asemebor, then prayed the court to adjourn for the prosecution to open its case, “my lord, I humbly pray the court to adjourn for the prosecution to open our case for trial to commence fully” said Asemebor.

PMB Returns To Nigeria On Sunday, Resumes Monday

Against the rumour of his death, President Muhammadu Buhari is expected back in Nigeria on Sunday after his 10-day vacation in London, United Kingdom. A competent source in the presidency confirmed to our correspondent on Friday that top government officials are expected to receive the President at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

“There are no indications yet that he will not be back on Sunday. If he will not return, he would have communicated that to the National Assembly. Since he has not done that, then he is expected back,” the source said.

PRESIDENT BUHARI PROCEEDS ON VACATION

President Muhammadu Buhari leaves for the United Kingdom today on a short leave, which is part of his annua vacation. He is expected to resume work on February 6, 2017.

During the vacation, the President will also undergo routine medical check-ups.

In line with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the President of the Senate, and Speaker, House of Representatives, have been duly communicated.

While away, the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, will perform the functions of the Office of the President.

James Ibori to be released from prison tomorrow

Former Delta State governor, James Ibori is scheduled to be released from HMP Huntercoombe tomorrow, having served 6.5 years of his 13 year sentence. It’s the end of his sentence in the United Kingdom.
The latest information (last Friday pm) however, appears to be that the UK authorities have applied to have him remanded in custody.

The precise reason has not so far been disclosed by the Ibori defence team in detail, but appears to be related to his immigration status.

The UK Home Office is not releasing any information.

PILOT TRAINING: 301 FTS GRADUATES NEW BATCH OF 10 STUDENT PILOTS

Ten trainees of Student Pilot Course 41B have completed their ab-initio pilot training at 301 Flying Training School (FTS), Kaduna. 

The graduands, awarded certificates over the weekend, are now ready to proceed for Basic Flying Training (BFT) on the fixed wing aircraft at 303 FTS Kano or similar facilities abroad. The graduating students were among the 25 original members of Student Pilot Course 41 that was later divided into two batches of 12 and 13 students. 

Six members of the first batch of students, constituting Student Pilot Course (SPC) 41A, were sent for rotary wing flying at the International Helicopter Flying Training School, Enugu. The remaining six, comprising 4 Nigerians and 2 Liberians, continued their training in 301 FTS and completed the course in 2015.

Anti-corruption coalition: Dariye, Ibori, 58 other Nigerians may lose UK assets

Fresh facts emerged yesterday that more than 60 top Nigerians may lose assets and cash laundered in the United Kingdom.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may soon submit a list of those convicted, under probe, the fleeing suspects and those watch-listed to the relevant agencies in the UK.

The UK was said to be in custody of over £40 million stolen funds recovered from some Nigerian government officials in 2008.

This is apart from about £22.5million recovered from the Island of Jersey. Of the cash, about £6.8million loot had been traced to ex-Governor James Ibori.

Cameron’s comment: TMG berates UK, others, demands return of Nigeria’s looted funds

ABUJA – The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), a coalition of over 400 civic organizations in Nigeria, yesterday, berated Western Nations over a comment credicted to the British Prime Minister, Mr. David Cameron describing Nigeria as a fantastically corrupt country.

 

Consequently, the group demanded the return of Nigeria’s looted funds in the United Kingdom and other Western countries, allegeding them of pretending to love Nigeria. 

The Chairman of TMG, Com. Ibrahim Zikirullahi, in a statement made available today in Abuja, said UK and other Western countries had no moral justification to label Nigeria ‘a corrupt country’, when they were happy aiding and abating corrupt Nigerians.

Nigerians in UK protest Fulani herdsmen killings in Enugu, others (Photos)

Irked by the incessant violent activities perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen across parts of the country, Nigerian residents in the United Kingdom, have staged a protest at the UK Westminister Parliament to condemn the killings and destructions by armed herdsmen, as well as draw the attention of global authorities to wade into the wanton killings.

 According to Mr. Chidi Ughonu, Coordinator, London Protest Against Fulani Herdsmen, the protest is coming in response to last week’s attack at Nimbo, Uzo-Uwani community in Enugu State, where six people were killed with scores wounded and properties destroyed by suspected herdsmen.
