Donald Trump, Brexit and Other Lessons From Conservative Parties’ Politics

Conservative parties, be they called the Tory Party, or Republican Party, or Likud Party, have for the most part of the early 20th century to present advocated policies that seemed unreasonable but the world continued to vote them into office. These policies are often presented to the public lased with patriotic cinnamon sugars. And the public has consumed them with passion.

At the formative stages of the European Union, the conservatives urged Britons not join as Labor and other progressive parties pushed for joining European Union. General Charles De Gaulle’s opposition to Britain’s membership did not help but it was mostly internal British debate that stopped Britain from joining until after ten years (1975), when a twotoone flavor was negotiated and referendum held. Even after joining, the Conservative Party was still lukewarm in the association. It was this attitude that led some conservatives to propose that a referendum be held to exit. The leadership of the Brexit was mostly Conservative Party membership although the conservative PM campaigned against the exit. And when he lost he resigned and the new PM has proclaimed, loud and clear, that Brexit means Brexit and no attempt would be made to renter through a back door.

The Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and Head of the Commonwealth, Queen Elizabeth II has revealed that when it comes to technology, she relies on the help of her grandchildren. Like many grandmothers struggling to keep abreast in the digital age, the Queen told a guest at a garden party at Buckingham Palace that she required a helping hand on the computer.

Barbara Wilkins, from Southend-on-Sea, was invited to the Queen's second garden party of the year for her work with young children.

The 82-year-old, who is still busy running nursery schools, spoke to the Queen about how children had changed over the years.

Beyond balancing gender in his cabinet, Mr. Trudeau included a number of minorities, including Harjit Sajjan, a Sikh combat veteran put in charge of defense and Jody Wilson-Raybould, an aboriginal woman and former prosecutor as justice minister.

Ashimolowo Urges Christians to Pray for Kidnapped Chibok Schoolgirls

The Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo has called on the Christians to pray earnestly for the release of the schoolgirls kidnapped by the Boko Haram Islamist terrorists in Chibok, Borno state.

He said the situation leaves room for suspicion of collusion with the government and Boko Haram supporters.

Exactly month ago (April 14) the Islamist Boko Haram group kidnapped more than 200 school girls in Borno state with the claims that majority of them are Christians students of the area.

Australia to crack down on Boko Haram over kidnap of schoolgirls

Australia is cracking down on the Nigerian terror group that kidnapped 200 girls, banning Boko Haram under Australian terrorism laws. Prime Minister Tony Abbott says the whole world was transfixed and horrified by the group's hostage-taking.

The group is also responsible for the deaths of another 300 people in recent terror attacks.

Killings by the group alone this year amount to over 2000 persons. Mr Abbott says the government is taking steps to commence the process of banning Boko Haram as a terrorist organisation in line with action already taken by the US, UK, Canada and Nigeria.

American comedian comedian John Pinette found dead in Pittsburgh hotel - BBC

American comedian and actor John Pinette has been found dead in a hotel room in Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, reports say. Aged 50, he died of natural causes, the local medical examiner's office told Associated Press.

A veteran of the international comedy circuit, he was also famous for his role in the final episode of the sitcom Seinfeld. He had just started a tour across venues in the US and Canada.

Pinette died at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel in Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon, US media report. A spokesperson for the medical examiner's office said the entertainer had been suffering from liver and heart disease. His manager told the Hollywood Reporter he had suffered a pulmonary embolism. The award-winning comedian was born in Boston in the state of Massachusetts in 1964 and was given his break when he was asked to tour with Frank Sinatra.
