Buhari and The State Of The Nation (I)
I sat with him over a cup of coffee in my house last Monday before I left Nigeria. I started pressuring him to talk to me on phone a month after his appointment. He declined. He was confident my phone must have been tapped long ago. So I waited. That meeting was long overdue because he holds a sensitive position in government and I have always wanted to discuss the state of the nation as I see it from the eyes of the average Nigerian with him. I wanted him to corroborate or refute some information I have. He did corroborate all my priors with the exception of Mallami on Saraki! Here is what I know.

Buhari and Conspiracy Theories: Mahmud Jega is Right
I study Northern Nigeria for a living. I am a Lugardian Northerner. I grew up in and schooled in Northern Nigeria. I know that conspiracy theories have a high resonance in the region. I know that implausible and sometimes ridiculous alternative explanations and alternative facts circulate in the region to devastating effect.
Conspiracy theories led to non-Muslim fellow Nigerians being killed in Kano shortly after the beginning of the US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. The ignorant interpretation of cosmic and climatic events as recompense for sin by some Muslim clerics led to Christians being attacked in Maiduguri when there was a solar eclipse--years before Boko Haram emerged.

Rwanda-level genocidal incitement: El-Rufai Should First Arrest Himself
Governor Nasir El-Rufai has caused Audu Maikori to be arrested for sending a tweet that relied on false information about an attack that never occurred, a tweet for which he has since apologized. Maikori has been a critic of the governor's handling of the Southern Kaduna killings.
El-Rufai's latest canard to defend his tyranny and intolerance for critique is what he calls "a policy of consequences." Very chic. The problem is that not a single one of the foreign herdsmen he says are responsible for killing hundreds of Southern Kaduna people has been arrested for murder. Not a single one of them has faced this "policy of consequences."
In fact instead of being arrested, El-Rufai rewarded them with handsome payments to silence their guns. Yet Southern Kaduna folks like Maikori who complain about their menace, even if relying on unreliable information produced in the haze of crisis, are hounded into detention. It's different strokes for different folks.

SYMBOLISM MATTERS
Symbolism matters in leadership. Many members of the Nigerian ruling class do not realize this. In three weeks of being acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has not done anything substantively different from what President Buhari has been doing for almost two years. He has not healed a broken economy, tamed inflation, stemmed the collapse of the naira, improved power, or engineered a miraculous infrastructural renaissance. Nor has he dealt a final, decisive blow on Boko Haram. In other words, he has not changed the governing paradigm of the APC/Buhari administration and has thus not fundamentally altered how the administration is perceived and evaluated. It is still a calamitous administration on several fronts.

PRESS RELEASE: NIGERIAN MILITARY SYMBOL OF NATIONAL UNITY
The attention of the Defence Headquarters has been drawn to a misleading, baseless and concocted online story that Nigerian military is out to exterminate adherents of a particular religion in a particular region using surrendered Boko Haram terrorists. This story, to say the least, is mischievous, mendacious and calculated attempt to cause apprehension in the country and create division in the military.
Nigerian Armed Forces is constituted by Nigerians of all tribes and religious affiliation. It is therefore callous and outrageous for anybody to think of the military taking side with one religious group against another. More so, everybody knows that Boko Haram is enemy to all Nigerians, therefore, to think of using them against our people is indeed senseless. Religion and politics should not meddled with security affairs.

Take It Or Leave It: Why Nigerian Christians would yet suffer for a long long in the hands of Satan
Nigerian Christians would keep on suffering in the hands of Satan and his work force until they open their eyes to the reality of the spiritual and stop being carnal..
The damage done in the spiritual realm against the body of Christ by the so-called great men of God that the blind and deaf believers are running after is much more than the physical damages the Boko Haram and other Islamic group are doing. 2 Timothy 4: 3-4
Jesus Christ would fold his hands and let all the rebellious people called Christians in Nigeria be wasted until they know how to genuinely repent and leave those pastors who are making noise working for their own selfish gain come to Jesus Christ who died for them. Philippians 3:18-19

Boko Haram’s elusive leader Abubakar Shekau appeared in a new video on Thursday disputing a claim by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari that the Terrorist group had been routed from its Sambisa Forest stronghold.
“We are safe. We have not been flushed out of anywhere. And tactics and strategies cannot reveal our location except if Allah wills by his decree,” Shekau said in the 25-minute video, flanked by armed fighters.

Fayose to FG: Defeat hunger, not recycled story of defeating Boko Haram
..........says hunger does not speak the language of political propaganda!
The governor said it has become predictable that whenever Nigerians cry of the pains and sufferings they are going through, the federal government will come with stories like; “20 Chibok girls found,” “$1 billion found in Mr A, B or C bedroom,” “Boko Haram technically defeated,” “We have captured Sambisa forest,” etc just to divert attention.
