Buhari: Americans wanted pragmatic solutions, Trump promised it , and he is fulfilling it

President Donald Trump
Donald Trump made some campaign promises which addressed certain real fears of the American people. Among those fears was the need to deal with terrorism through a pragmatic approach.

"16 YEARS OF PDP DAMAGE - THE PEOPLE AROUND BUHARI" EXCUSE - Moses Ochonu

First, they said it was too early to criticize PMB for non-performance. Why not wait a year before criticizing, they said. Thankfully, a year has since passed and things have worsened, so that excuse has expired.

When "too early to criticize" wore thin, the Buharists transitioned to another excuse: 16 years of PDP damage cannot be fixed in a year, they said; never mind that at least 40 percent of the people in the current administration have origins in the PDP and participated extensively in this 16 year destruction they speak of.

It is September 2016 and the economy lies comatose, rendered dysfunctional by a combination of outmoded economic thinking, arbitrary statism, and panicky policy flip-flops. It is increasingly clear now that it's not the 16 year PDP plague or the low oil price, or Niger Delta Avengers, that has taken Nigerian into recession. Rather, It is key decisions taken in the early days of this administration and stubbornly maintained against wise expert counsel. These foundational knee jerk measures are responsible for the recession as Emir Sanusi of Kano correctly stated. Although some of these policies have been reversed, their debilitating aftermaths persist, deepening the recession.

Niger Delta Avengers group claims five attacks in Delta state, Ijaw Youth Council Condemned renew attacks

“At 9:15p.m on Friday, the @NDAvengers blew up Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) crude oil trunk line to Warri Refinery.
“At 11:26 p.m on Saturday, @NDAvengers blew up two NPDC major crude trunk lines close to Batan flow station in Delta State.
“At 1:15 a.m on Sunday, @NDAvengers blew up two major Chevron oil wells – Well 7 and Well 8, close to Abiteye flow station in Delta State.
“All five operations were carried out by @ndavengers strike team. Well done, soldiers.”

YENAGOA - The Niger Delta Avengers, a militant group that has been carrying out attacks on Nigerian oil facilities in the past few months, claimed responsibility on Sunday for five new attacks in the southern energy hub since Friday.

The group had previously not laid claim to any attacks in the Niger Delta - the source of most of the OPEC member's oil - since June 16.

Petroleum Ministry sources said in late June that a month-long truce had been agreed with militants. But the Avengers said they did not "remember" agreeing to a ceasefire.

On the issue before the court on PMB certificate - my candid opinion

My friend Efio-Ita Effiom Nyok has been persistent in his request that I make a statement on the issue burning on social media about the controversy surrounding PMB certificate. I appreciate Nyok, who has made me proud of his journalism, I feel proud that I gave foundation to his present philosophy of life. I feel proud that he had never failed to recognise my role in his life. I have always instructed him never to give to blind loyalty hence his persistence in the questions around the certificate of PMB not minding the fact that I remain his boss. Nyok I say well done and keep it up, that is the beauty of opposition.

On the matter of PMB, I have strong reasons to belief that the issues surrounding PMB certificate are more of a calculated blackmail by corrupt persons wishing to smear the image of the President. Corruption will fight back and it is visibly fighting back. Many indices proves this; the sponsored Niger Delta Avengers, sponsored MASSOB, the polarisation and infiltration of corruption in the National Assembly. All the cabal seems to be united against one man. Thank God for the gift of Buhari with his dexterity and firmness of purpose. No better person could have been the president of Nigeria at this critical moment. Yes things are rough, the economy is harsh. With a meagre salary I spend more than 35,000 on fuel alone; this is not a sweet story.

Niger Delta govs working with militants - Itsekiri voice out

Buhari should lead FG’s negotiating team—S-South leaders

WARRI—ITSEKIRI ethnic nationality in Delta State, yesterday, accused some serving and former governors in the Niger Delta, of fraternizing with militants to wreak havoc in the region, only to openly and secretly call on the Federal Government to dialogue and drop the criminal charges against them.

Chairman of Warri Study Group, WSG, the intellectual arm of the Itsekiri nation, Mr. Edward Ekpoko, who made the allegation in a statement, urged the Federal Government not to dialogue with Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, or any other militant group.

“Politicians, including an ex-governor of Delta State and militants have continued to use this neglect to blackmail the Federal Government as a reason for the renewed crisis. But who is to be held responsible?”

After the amalgamation of the Nigerian State in 1914 and the very day crude oil was discovered in a large commercial quantity and quality in the rural community of Oloibiri in present day Bayelsa State of Niger Delta Region: Peaceful co-existence and harmony eluded us. It ushered in violence, inter and intra-Communal conflicts, hate, underdevelopment, poverty, ecological damage, youths restiveness and neglect became normal way of live in the communities where these rare natural resources were deposited by nature.

The NIGER DELTA PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT also observed that, over the years, our resources have been used to sustain the political administrative live wire of Nigeria to the exclusion of the region. It is worthy of note that, Niger Delta witnessed the emergence of very great and prominent sons and daughters, who effortlessly without recourse to violence agitated for regional transformation and human capacity development. They were coordinated, peaceful, wise and had the people's plight as their driving force and source of inspiration.

Niger Delta Avengers: Anglican Primate Condemns Attacks On Nigeria’s Oil Pipeline

The Primate of the Anglican Church in Nigeria, Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh, has condemned the recent attacks on the nation’s oil pipeline by the Niger Delta Avengers.

Most Reverend Okoh spoke on Friday at the 2016 Synod of the Church held in Abuja.

Further condemning the situation with huge potential of affecting the nation’s revenue that largely depends on crude sales, he, however, called for a ceasefire by the agitators in the interest of national development.

The Primate also urged the Federal Government to collaborate with host communities to secure oil pipelines.

AGAIN!!!! Explosion Rocks Chevron Facility In Warri

Another explosion rocked Chevron Nigeria Limited’s facility in the oil rich Niger Delta on Friday. The company had in the last few weeks recorded several attacks on its facilities and installations, for which the militants claimed responsibility.

Barely a day after the new militant group, Niger Delta Avengers gave a two-week ultimatum for oil firms operating in the region to shut down operations, an explosion on Friday again rocked Chevron’s facility.

SUBSIDY REMOVAL: WORSE TIMES LOOMING? GOD FORBID!

The deregulation of the downstream sector of the oil industry proposed by the Jonathan administration offered great promise of economic prosperity for the Nigerian nation. Basically, it would certainly have ended the "fantastic corruption" surrounding the fuel subsidy transactions thereby raising amounts available to the FAAC to share among the three tiers of Government over the years. If the policy was backed by necessary strategic legislative frameworks such as the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), great numbers of jobs would have been created and our nation would have been saved the new trend of militancy represented by the Niger Delta Avengers... Nigerians deserve apology from the champions of anti-deregulation campaigns that led to the unfortunate postponement of that policy.
