In continuation with the clearance operations of the remnants and fleeing members of Boko Haram terrorists group, troops involved in Operations LAFIYA DOLE and HARBIN KUNAMA II have intensified the tempo of their operations in their various areas of operations.
The troops of 232 Battalion yesterday carried out patrols to Muchalla, Lade and Bodeno villages in order to prevent Boko Haram terrorists’ infiltration. Similarly, troops in blocking position at Garkida carried out similar exercise to Dzangwalla general area where they neutralized fleeing Boko Haram terrorists.
On their part, troops of 23 Brigade Support Battalion conducted patrol to Kolkol village with the aim of dominating the area and preventing elements of Boko Haram terrorists infiltrating the area through borders with neighbouring Cameroon. Whereas the troops stationed at Forward Operation Base at Hong have assumed blocking positions in Mararrabar Pella, Kalaa and Shangui to dominate the area and fix any Boko Haram terrorists that venture that way.

UPDATE ON OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE: TROOPS INTENSIFY CLEARANCE OPERATIONS AND PATROLS
In order to sustain the tempo of the clearance operations of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists that are hiding in remote areas and some villages, troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have been carrying out ambushes, raids, cordon and search operations in the theatre and northeast generally.
Today, troops of 159 Battalion Artillery Detachment based on information and confirmation on the presence of suspected Boko Haram terrorists at Tula Udah forest, carried out heavy bombardment to neutralize them.
Similarly, based tip off on the presence of foreign elements of Boko Haram terrorists from Chad and Nigeriens, troops carried out cordon and search operations at Gombe International Hotel, Gombe State. However, nothing incriminating was found. However, more vigilance is maintained in the area.

Female Suicide Bomber Detonates Bomb near Military Quarter Guard Along Biu Road In Gombe State
Female suicide bomber on Sunday, June 8, allegedly detonated a bomb near Military Quarter Guard along Biu Road in Gombe State.
According to a source, the "explosion occurred at about 11am along Military Quarter Guard along Biu Road in Gombe."
Reportedly, the woman had the explosive in her bag, but the bomb went off before she reached her destination, the military quarters. The woman was scattered by the explosion.

How Explosion rocks Gombe gov’s house
The private residence of the Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dakwambo, was on Thursday rocked by an explosion.
SaharaReporters reports that the house also serves as the official residence of the governor. It reported that a Police Armoured Personnel Carrier that was stationed in front of Dakwambo’s house was the target of the blast.
The Liaison Officer to the state government in Abuja confirmed the attack to SaharaReporters over the phone.

Jonathan appoints Zainab Bulkachuwa as Court of Appeal President
President Goodluck Jonathan has sent the name of Zainab Bulkachuwa to the Senate for confirmation as the President of the Court of Appeal. Ms. Bulkachuwa is already a judge at the court.
The nomination must be confirmed by the Senate before the judge can be sworn-in. Ms. Bulkachuwa will head Nigeria’s second highest court at a time Nigeria’s judiciary is also headed by a female.
