UPDATE ON OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE: TROOPS INTENSIFY CLEARANCE OPERATIONS AND PATROLS

In order to sustain the tempo of the clearance operations of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists that are hiding in remote areas and some villages, troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have been carrying out ambushes, raids, cordon and search operations in the theatre and northeast generally.

Today, troops of 159 Battalion Artillery Detachment based on information and confirmation on the presence of suspected Boko Haram terrorists at Tula Udah forest, carried out heavy bombardment to neutralize them.

Similarly, based tip off on the presence of foreign elements of Boko Haram terrorists from Chad and Nigeriens, troops carried out cordon and search operations at Gombe International Hotel, Gombe State. However, nothing incriminating was found. However, more vigilance is maintained in the area.

PHOTOS: Mrs. Aisha Buhari distributes relief items to IDPs in NGANZAI and MONGUNO areas


Less than two weeks after the reopening of roads leading to Northern Borno state, Mrs. Aisha Buhari represented by Senator Abubakar Kyari and other members of the Wife of The Presidents Committee on Distribution of Relief Items, distributed relief items to internally displaced persons (IDPs) who returned to their communities in NGANZAI and MONGUNO Local Government areas of the state.

400 households of displaced women in each of the two council areas benefited from the distribution exercise earlier this week.

Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet Foils Plan To Ambush Surface Forces, Kills 15 Boko Haram Terrorists

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has successfully foiled plans by the Boko Haram terrorists to ambush the ground troops and also killed over 15 of the terrorists in the ongoing operations in parts of the North-east.

The Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, in a statement yesterday, said the air component of ‘Operation Lafiya Dole’ has uncovered a plot by the terrorists to ambush the surface forces harboured at Doron Naira, north of Borno State.”

War Against Insurgents: NigerianTroops Arrest Wanted Boko Haram Terrorist Leader, Other Reports

In continuation of Operation CRACKDOWN deep inside Sambisa forest, troops have arrested one of the declared wanted Boko Haram terrorists leaders, and also conducted patrols and clearance operations within the theatre of operations.

According to the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman: "At about 1.35pm yesterday troops of 143 Battalion arrested one Sulaiman Umaru, a suspected Boko Haram terrorists group member whose photograph is on the poster containing the photographs of the 100 Boko Haram terrorists declared wanted. He has since been moved to 28 Task Force Brigade Headquarters for further investigation."

"Troops of 21 Brigade have continued with the clearance operations at Yerimari, while troops of 22 Task Force Brigade Garrison have also embarked on patrols along Dikwa–Mafa-Maiduguri road. The patrol was aimed at picketing the road to keep it safe and open."

MILITARY TROOPS KILL BOKO HARAM KINGPIN IN DALORE, RESCUE 67 HOSTAGES

Elements of 22 Brigade Garrison carried out clearing operation at Dalore camp on Sunday in which they killed 19 Boko Haram terrorists among whom was Ameer of Dalore.


The troops also captured 2 AK-47 Rifles, 1 Small Machine Gun and 1 Hand Grenade and recovered 4 pickup vehicles.


According to the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the Nigerian Military troops also rescued 67 hostages from the terrorists. The freed hostages are undergoing screening at Internally Displaced Persons in Dikwa.


He however said, unfortunately, during the operation the troops Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle ran into an Improvised Explosive Device and had a damaged tyre.


Colonel Usman also thanks Nigerians for usual and kind cooperation as the Nigerian Militry have vitually end the insurgency war.

Islamist Boko Haram engage military in Dikwa town, Borno

Members of the Islamist terror group Boko Haram, are currently attacking the ancient town of Dikwa in Borno State.

Eye witness identified as Ari Bulawa said scores of insurgents stormed Dikwa around 11am today and engaged troops stattioned in the area. "The terrorists have attacked the military station in Dikwa with guns and explosives and the fight is ongoing.

"Most of our people have fled for now and only God knows how the fight will end," he said.

This is not the first time Dikwa was attacked.

UPDATE! Boko Haram Sects Kill 217 People in Borno, Senator Ahmed Zanna

Senator representing Borno Central, Senator Ahmed Zanna , today confirmed that 217 people were killed by the Islamist Boko Haram Terrorists in the state between Thursday evening and early hours of Friday morning.

According to him, Sixty people were killed in Kala Balge, seven teachers died at a college in Dikwa and there were 150 deaths in three other villages in the state, he said.


Among those killed in Kala Balge were students who were preparing to write their UTME exams, another sources added.

Scores Killed in Borno as Boko Haram Launch Fresh Assorts

The Suspected Islamist Jihadists otherwise known as Boko Haram, today, launched fresh attacks on troubled Borno villages and on highways killing more than 30 people including residents, motorists and commuters.

The Boko Haram' latest attacks started on Thursday evening and lasted on till Friday morning, they invaded three towns ; Dikwa (in the central), Gwoza and Kalabalge council area and on Maiduguri-Biu road.

Eight Teachers were killed by the sects in the attack on Government Secondary school in Dikwa located along Gulumba road.

Is this Believable?: Captured Terrorists Make Confessions, Plead For Mercy

Reports say Scores of wounded terrorists, who escaped from various camps under the fire of security forces in north east Nigeria, have been captured in the fringes of Lake Chad. 
 
The spokesman for the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MJTF), Major General Chris Olukolade, said in a statement that the captured terrorists, some of whom were fatally wounded, were already making useful statements to interrogators of the task force. 

According to him, others were captured by troops in locations around Dikwa, Cross Kauwa, Kukawa and Alargarmo. In their confessions, it was revealed that some of the camps had been disbanded following the directive of their clerics who declared that the operation of the sect had come to an end as the mission could no longer be sustained.
