MILITARY TROOPS KILL BOKO HARAM KINGPIN IN DALORE, RESCUE 67 HOSTAGES

Elements of 22 Brigade Garrison carried out clearing operation at Dalore camp on Sunday in which they killed 19 Boko Haram terrorists among whom was Ameer of Dalore.


The troops also captured 2 AK-47 Rifles, 1 Small Machine Gun and 1 Hand Grenade and recovered 4 pickup vehicles.


According to the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the Nigerian Military troops also rescued 67 hostages from the terrorists. The freed hostages are undergoing screening at Internally Displaced Persons in Dikwa.


He however said, unfortunately, during the operation the troops Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle ran into an Improvised Explosive Device and had a damaged tyre.


Colonel Usman also thanks Nigerians for usual and kind cooperation as the Nigerian Militry have vitually end the insurgency war.

TROOPS AMBUSH BOKO HARAM SUICIDE BOMBER


Troops of 25 Task Force Brigade ambushed and killed a Boko Haram terrorist suicide bomber at Kumala and Musafanari villages general area last night effectively saving lives and properties of innocent citizens.
The troops who on receipt of information, laid an ambush for the terrorist at suspected Boko Haram terrorists crossing point, engaged the terrorist who was obviously on suicide mission, from Sambisa general area. The bomber paid the price of his wicked activities as he was dealt with decisively.

The troops recovered a motorcycle, 12 primed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and a hand bag containing personal effects which included a hijab obviously meant for disguise and concealment of explosives for the intended nefarious act.
The morale of troops remains high as they continue to mop up all surviving terrorists.

TROOPS AMBUSH AND KILL TERRORISTS 
Troops of 7 Brigade have ambushed and killed 7 Boko Haram terrorists at Dawashi early this morning. The gallant troops that laid in wait at the terrorists suspected crossing point engaged them on sight, killed the 7 terrorists and recovered 1 Peugeot Station Wagon loaded with 2,010 litres of Premium Motor Spirit packed in 67 Jerri cans, uniforms, some materiels and Improvised Explosive making Devices (IEDs). Others items recovered include, dry cell batteries, 1 AK-47 rifle, tools and fish.

TROOPS ON HOT PURSUIT OF BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS 
Troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion of 25 Task Force Brigade on Wednesday engaged in hot pursuit of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in Kumala.
This followed an earlier incident in which suspected Boko Haram terrorists ambushed fighting patrol elements of 25 Task Force Brigade. After clearing the ambush, the troops exploited further off Damboa road from Kumala.

During the pursuit, the troops traced the axis of withdrawal of the terrorists and discovered that the terrorist vehicle mounted with an Anti-Aircraft Gun tasted a bit of the Boko Haram terrorists’ evil intents as it ran into an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) buried by them.
The vehicle was shredded into pieces by the IED while 2 of the Boko Haram terrorists died in the process. The troops recovered 1 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), 2 AK-47 Assault Rifles as well as one Boko Haram terrorists' flag, 6 primed IEDs, Anti-Aircraft Gun links and rounds of ammunition. Other recoveries include 43 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition and a mobile telephone handset.
This incident of the terrorists group falling victims of its evil plans against the troops, the wrath of God has been aroused by the retributive justice against the devilish Boko Haram terrorists.

TROOPS CLEAR BULASARI TERRORISTS CAMP 
In continuation of the clearance operations of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists’ reported locations and hideouts by the military, troops of of 120 Task Force Battalion cleared the camp at Bulasari. This is coming after clearing Golgore camp yesterday Tuesday, 15th March 2016.
During the operation, quite a number of the Boko Haram terrorists were killed while one of our soldier sustained gunshot wound. The solder’s condition is stable and is currently being managed at Damaturu General Hospital.

One of the most significant aspects of the operation was the recovery of Nigerian Army Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) earlier captured by the terrorists during an attack on Buni Yadi on 9th July 2015. The APC was discovered at Golgore River line and it has since been evacuated.
This operation has further proven our commitment to rid our country of the menace of Boko Haram terrorists and other criminal elements in the society.

PERSON-BORNE IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE ATTACK IN UMMARARI 
This is to confirm that there were twin Person-borne improvised explosive attack carried out by two female carriers in Ummarari village near Molai, outskirts of Maiduguri metropolis, Borno State, this morning. The first attack targeted a mosque, while the second blast about 50 metres away, a few minutes later. Sadly, 22 people were killed and 18 others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Troops, security agents and care givers have been mobilized to scene, while the wounded have been evacuated to Molai General Hospital for treatment.

The troops, security agents and the Civilian JTF have secured the area and are combing the environment for possible clues.
While we commiserate with the families of the victims of this dastardly act, we wish to reassure the public that we would continue to rout the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists wherever they may be hiding. We will not rest on our oars until all those that masterminded this latest heinous and other similar crimes are apprehended and brought to justice.
Meanwhile, we implore the members of the public to be more security conscious, cooperate with the troops and security agencies. They should also please report any suspicious persons, objects or happenings to troops or security agencies at all times.

TROOPS KILL MORE TERRORISTS AND RECOVER WEAPONS 
Troops of 254 Task Force Battalion, 25 Task Force Brigade in conjunction with vigilantes have conducted clearance operation of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists at Gwashari village along Damboa-Bale road.
During the patrol, the troops encountered some elements of the Boko Haram terrorists in which they killed one and captured 3 others. They also recovered 1 Dane gun, AK-47 rifle magazine, 2 knives, assorted drugs and the sum of N142,000 from the terrorists.

BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS CLEARANCE OPERATIONS HEATS UP IN 7 DIVISION 
The clearance operations of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists is gaining momentum in the various axis of the theatre especially in 7 Division area of responsibility. Within the last 48 hours, the troops were able to clear Boko Haram camps, killed several of the terrorists and recovered vehicles, weapons, equipment and rescued persons.
The troops of 151 Task Force Battalion have cleared terrorists hideouts in Izza and 8 surrounding other villages. Similarly, troops of 121 Task Force Battalion deployed at Pulka came under attack from suspected Boko Haram terrorists fanning out of Sambisa forest to escape sustained aerial bombardment by the Nigerian Air Force pilots.
The troops successfully repelled the attack by killing 17 Boko Haram terrorists and also recovered 12 AK-47 rifles, 6 AK-47 rifle magazines, 1 General Purpose Machine Gun, 1 Browning Machine Gun, 1 Toyota Hilux vehicle, a 60mm mortar tube, 4 pieces of 60mm mortar bombs, 1 belt of 12.5mm ammunition and 9 belts of 12.7mm (NATO) ammunition.
Others were 3 hand grenades and 7 boxes of .50mm ammunition.
Troops of 114 Task Force Battalion while on patrol along Bitta-Pridang-Manawashe axis rescued 95 persons suspected to have escaped from Madube and Shuwari general area. The rescued persons are being screened and profiled.
Troops of 115 Task Force Battalion accompanied by some members of the vigilante group in their area, have also conducted patrol to Dogwaba, Dutse, Mayolarde, Musa A, B and C villages without any contact with terrorists. They have however continued to dominate the area and make it secure.
Similarly, troops of 117 of Task Force Battalion also conducted another patrol around Mildo, Vapura, Mildo, Shelmi, Gubla, Dar and Hyambula settlements. In the process, they also rescued 27 persons who escaped from Mayo Ali village. One of the female rescued persons gave birth to a baby boy few minutes after the rescue. Both mother and child are being cared for at the unit’s Regimental Aid Post and are doing fine.
On their part, 7 Division Garrison in conjunction with Civilian Joint Task Force, have arrested one Mallam Ashiru Zarami at Mainok, a suspected Boko Haram terrorists logistic officer at Mainok with food items. The suspect has been handed over to the Joint Intelligence Processing Centre. In a related development, another suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Mallam Abubakar Kime voluntarily handed over himself to troops and Civilian JTF at Benisheikh, Borno State. On interrogation he claimed to have escaped from Kalmari village close to Alagarno forest.
The troops of 81 Battalion also laid an ambush for Boko Haram terrorists at suspected Boko Haram terrorists crossing point from Sambisa forest near Komala and Musafanari villages. Sensing danger, the approaching terrorists disembarked and abandoned their vehicles and fled into the bush leading back to deep into Sambisa forest shortly before approaching the killing zone. Nevertheless, the troops opened fire and wounded several of the terrorists. The troops recovered the abandoned Toyota pick up vehicle and 28 Bags pf groundnuts.
On their part, the heroic 7 Division Strike Group encountered an ambush by suspected Boko Haram terrorists enroute to Banki. They successfully fought it out, killed 4 terrorists and recovered AK-47 rifles, 2 mobile telephone handsets and a Shilka shell loaded with explosives.

TROOPS OF 7 BRIGADE RECORD ANOTHER SUCCESS 
In a bid to further consolidate the successes so far recorded in the clearance operations of the remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents, again the gallant troops of 7 Brigade Quick Reaction Force on a routine fighting patrol had an encounter with members of the Boko Haram moving on 3 motorcycles along Kekeno axis linking Dabam Masara.
During the pursuit, troops killed 2 Boko Haram terrorists and recovered 2 AK-47 rifles, 3 motorcycles and one tear gas from the terrorists. Other items recovered include 4 mobile telephone handsets, assorted sizes of bathroom slippers, food flasks, plastic cups, amongst others.

It would be recalled that this same troops yesterday killed a wanted Boko Haram kingpin who is on serial 95 on the first Nigerian Army wanted list of 100 Boko Haram terrorists leaders.
In related development, troops of 118 Task Force Battalion of 7 Brigade, also encountered Boko Haram terrorists at Ma'ala Village in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State. During the encounter, the troops killed 1 Boko Haram terrorist and captured 1 alive. They also rescued a 3 year old girl from the terrorists.
In addition, they also recovered quite a number of items from the terrorists which include 1 AK-47 rifle, 3 rifle magazines, 1 Hewlett Packard laptop, 2 External hard drives, a pair military and Nigeria Police camouflage uniform, a camel bag, 3 mini solar panels, assorted charms, fishing nets and soldering iron, amongst others.

TROOPS DESTROY BOKO HARAM CAMP AT ALAJERI 
Following reliable information on the presence of some Boko Haram terrorists, troops of 113 Battalion conducted a fighting patrol to Dunga general area on Thursday during which they discovered and destroyed a Boko Haram terrorists’ camp at Alajeri village in Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State.
In the operation, the troops killed 40 Boko Haram terrorists and captured 1 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade 7 ( RPG 7), 6 AK-47 rifles, 2 Fabrique Nationale rifles, 10 magazines, 188 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition and 64 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition. Other items recovered by the troops included 3 mobile phones, 6 copies of Holy Quran and 20 Motorcycles.
The troops are in high spirits because of the success of the operation coupled with the fact that there was no casualty or injury on the part of the troops.
Operations to clear all known Boko Haram terrorists camps and hideouts are ongoing as troops remain committed to the clearance and apprehension of the Boko Haram terrorists in the country.

TROOPS NAB WANTED BOKO HARAM TERORIST 
Troops of 7 Multinational Joint Task Force Brigade Quick Response Group (QRG) stationed in Baga and 118 Task Force Battalion, sprang an ambush along Daban Masara axis used by Boko Haram terrorists elements to convey logistics on Thursday. At the encounter, one of the suspected wanted Boko Haram terrorists leaders who is serial number 95 on the first Nigerian Army wanted list of 100 Boko Haram terrorists leaders, was fatally wounded in the exchange of fire.

He later gave up while receiving medical attention at the base, while other members of his team escaped with gun shot wounds.
The troops recovered 7 Jerri cans of 30 litres containing 210 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), motorcycles and food stuff in addition to arms and ammunitions.

TROOPS REPELLED ATTACK IN PULKA AND BITTA 
Troops of 26 and 28 Task Force Brigades repelled an early morning daring attack by fleeing Boko Haram terrorists on military locations at Pulka and Bitta in the fringes of Sambisa forest.
Today, troops of 114 Task Force Battalion came under three-pronged attack by Boko Haram terrorists fanning out of Sambisa forest from Damboa, Tokumbere and Pulka axis.

At the end of the debacle, 2 Boko Haram insurgents paid for their atrocities with their lives while several others sustained gun shot injuries. The fate that befell those that attacked Pulka was more dreadful.
The ever ready and vigilant troops rose to the occasion by repelling the attacks and killing all the 16 attackers and captured one of them alive during the exploitation. The gallant troops also recovered 11 AK-47 rifles, 3 General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), 1 Browning Machine Gun (BMG) and 2 Toyota Hilux vehicles. Others are a 60mm Mortar tube, 7 boxes of 12.7mm ammunition and 1 belt of 12.7mm ammunition.
It is gratifying to state that there were no casualty on our own troops except for 3 soldiers that sustained minor injuries.
The troops remained on maximum alert and are equally busy consolidating and continuing with their clearance operations with high morale.

GALLANT TROOPS OF 26 TASK FORCE BRIGADE CLEAR TERRORISTS FROM DURE 
Troops have intensified efforts of clearing remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in some hideouts in the North Eastern part of the country. In line with this on Saturday, soldiers of 121 Task Force Battalion, 26 Task Force Brigade carried out a clearance operations at Dure district.
During the encounter, troops met stiff resistance from the terrorists. They however overcome and cleared Dure 1, Dure 2 and Jango, Dibiye and other suspected Boko Haram terrorists hideouts within the general area of the district. Three soldiers however sustained injuries as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). They were immediately evacuated for medical treatment and are in stable condition.

During the operation, troops killed several terrorists and recovered 2 hand held Motorola radios one of which was booby-trapped, materials for Improvised Explosive making Devices and destroyed several grains storage facilities.
Simultaneously, another combined team of units under 26 Task Force Brigade based in Gwoza same day cleared Amdaga Makaranta and Amdaga Madachi of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists. During the encounter 2 Boko Haram terrorists fighters were killed.
According to General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Brigadier General Victor Okwudili Ezugwu, prior to the clearance operation, Dure 1 and 2 were Boko Haram strong holds in the mainland of Sambisa forest. The operation further revealed the new and desperate strategy of Boko Haram terrorists; hiding their logistics especially grains for the rainy season in dugouts and the use of hand held radios primed with Improvised Explosive Devices as booby-traps.
He assured that the Nigerian military is confident that God that gives victory is helping the military to decode and frustrate all terrorists’ evil plans and machinations. General Ezugwu further noted that it is the military's determined objective to ensure that the menace of Boko Haram would be consigned to the dustbin of inglorious history in the annals of Nigeria's corporate existence as a nation.
It is imperative to state that we shall not rest on our oars in implementing the directives of our indefatigable Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai to ensure that Boko Haram terrorists are completely defeated and their remnants are cleared wherever they may be hibernating.

TROOPS CLEARS BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS OUT OF DOKSA 
The troops of 231 and 331 Battalion together with some elements of Armed Forces Special Forces of 3 Division, based on received information, have today entered and cleared remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hiding in Doksa general area located in Biu Local Government Area.
During the clearance, the troops killed 2 Boko Haram terrorists and recovered military uniforms, 1 General Purpose Machine Gun, 1 AK-47 rifle and 2 Dane Guns. They also captured one Boko Haram terrorist alive, who gave his name as Musa Abdullahi.

The troops also encountered 2 Improvised Explosive Devices buried along their route of advance which they successfully detonated. They also recovered 2 pick up vans, 25 motorcycles, 30 bicycles and grinding machines, as well as large quantity of foodstuffs.
It was however discovered that apart from burying Improvised Explosive Devices, the terrorists often contaminate sources of water in the area.
Nonetheless, troops in that axis are in high morale and exploiting the general area to clear any reported remnants of Boko Haram in the general area.

TROOPS CLEARS ESCAPING BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS FROM SAMBISA FOREST 
Troops of 21 Brigade Bama, under 7 Division area of operational responsibility, in a blocking position, have at the early hours of today, cleared escaping Boko Haram terrorists that came through Sabsawa axis of Sambisa forest.
The troops also recovered a Toyota Hilux, 2 AK-47 rifles with registration numbers 58006915 and KO 35839, as well as 37 rounds of 12.7mm metal linked ammunition.

Unfortunately, one officer sustained injury during the encounter. He is however in a stable condition.

TROOPS RESCUED 63 PERSONS FROM TERRORISTS
Today, Army Headquarters Special Forces Team B, 7 Division Garrison, conducted fighting patrol in which they cleared Boko Haram terrorists hideout at Lawin Meleri, Matiri Bulaka and Aljeri villages.
During the operation, they killed 5 Boko Haram terrorists and also rescued 63 persons held captives by the terrorists.
The troops recovered 1 Dane gun and 1 Light Machine Gun Bipod Stand and detonated 1 Improvised Explosive Device enroute.
