The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby while welcoming the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari yesterday to Lambeth Palace in London, United Kingdom, said Nigeria is a great country which has more promise, more opportunity, more potential than anywhere else that I know in many continents, not just in Africa and that it's a rare day at Lambeth Palace when they do not pray for Nigeria which is the largest country in Africa, indeed the most populous black Nation on Earth.

"It was a great honour to welcome the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to Lambeth Palace in London this morning."

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan & Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Finally Meets Again ?

Even as their supporters are mindlessly attacking one another we are likely to see similar pictures soon of GEJ at the Emir’s Palace in Kano or, more likely, of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi in Aso Villa, laughing and letting bygones be bygones.

Like all traditional rulers, an Emir needs government patronage (especially the President’s) in order to keep up the impression of associative power and potent prestige. And like all politicians a President needs to be seen as friendly with traditional rulers (especially with Emirs in hierarchical Nigerian North) to keep up the impression of being a man of the people in all corners of Nigeria.

Nothing Good Exist inside Jonathan - Faseyiku

Have I ever really liked the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan as the president of Nigeria? No, I never have liked his presidency but I have also never really, and Iused the word really carefully, joined the Jonathan-bashing crowd. I haven't bashed him, not because he doesn't deserve the bashing he gets. I only choose to exercise restraint and give respect to the seat he occupies. I didn't think he was going to be a good president but I supported his ascension because whether you liked it or not there were other constitutional issues that represented far more important considerations than the person of President Goodluck Jonathan.


For crying out loud, he was a vice-president of a dying president and the constitution was clear about what happens in this circumstance. To not accept that he needed to ascend the presidency to preserve the constitutional order in Nigeria would have been absurd. Having said this, I also knew the best way to provide a summary insight into his presidency would be to look at the "Peter Principle" which states that "anything that works will be used in progressively more challenging applications until it fails". Peter principle has been summarized to a more widespread dictum: "everyone is promoted to their level of incompetence".

APC Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Jonathan, Fani-Kayode in closed-door meeting

Nigerian President, Dr.  Goodluck Jonathan has on Tuesday held a closed doors with a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Fani-Kayode who is one of the major critics of the present administration, attended the meeting which was held inside the President’s office with an unidentified man.

The former Aviation  minister, told State House correspondents after the meeting that lasted about an hour that there was nothing unusual for him to visit the President, affirming he was delighted he did so. “This is a Presidential Villa, the President is a President of Nigeria and every single person in this country that is a Nigerian is entitled to come here from time to time, when the doors are open to come and pay their respect to the wonderful people that are here. As a Nigerian, I have done that today and I am delighted to be here,” he said.
