Archbishop of Canterbury : Nigeria is a country with more promise, more opportunity, more potential than anywhere else in many continents

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby while welcoming the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari yesterday to Lambeth Palace in London, United Kingdom, said Nigeria is a great country which has more promise, more opportunity, more potential than anywhere else that I know in many continents, not just in Africa and that it's a rare day at Lambeth Palace when they do not pray for Nigeria which is the largest country in Africa, indeed the most populous black Nation on Earth.

"It was a great honour to welcome the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to Lambeth Palace in London this morning."

Anglican leader Justin Welby warns of any Negotiation with Islamist terrorists

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby warned Sunday of the difficulties of negotiating with an “utterly merciless” group Boko Haram, but called for active contact with the Nigerian Islamists over their abduction of scores of schoolgirls.

The Nigerian authorities have been attempting to negotiate with Boko Haram for some time but is it feasible? The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has worked in Nigeria and negotiated with armed groups - including a predecessor of Boko Haram in the north. He talks to the BBC's Shaun Ley.
