Nigeria's Unity Is Settled And Not Negotiable - Broadcast By President Muhammadu Buhari

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari spoke the mind of Nigerians who cherished the unity, peace and collective progress. He spoke as a Nationalist.

President Buhari sent a clear message to terrorists, ethnic irredentists, secessionists and champions of sectionalism that this union is an indissoluble matrimony in all circumstances. The President speech was a Lion's roar meant to reaffirm and reinforce the unity of a nation showing signs of disintegration during his absence. The President speech was a Lion's roar reestablishing full control of a staggering Clime heading to an engineered implosion during his absence.

DISLAIMER: FG HAS NOT REOPENED N-POWER PORTAL FOR NEW APPLICATIONS YET

Our attention has been drawn to false and fraudulent reports circulating especially in the Social Media that new N-Power applications are now being received on the N-Power portal. There are also equally false reports and claims about an unauthorised request for vital personal information of beneficiaries on web portals not known to the Presidency or any arm of the Federal Government.

Nigerians, especially beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries of the N-Power Volunteer Corps should ignore such reports emanating from fake sources and outlets and only relate with bonafide presidency and FG sources and web portals. For the avoidance of doubt, legitimate communication about the N-Power is done through selection@npower.gov.ng or the relevant Focal Persons appointed by each of the 36 States and the FCT.

KWARA STATE @50 YEARS: A TIME FOR CELEBRATION OR A TIME TO PROTEST? SEASON 1

Good day to you all our esteemed viewers on the new media. Let us again thank Almighty God, for His goodness upon our lives. Inspite of the burning and biting effects of this recession, occasioned by the activities of the luciferous elements within and around the corridors of power, coupled with ineptitude on the part of those managing our economy, we still thank God for the gift of life!
We took time to as usual go over various news items on social media. While doing so, we came across a release credited to Dr. Muideen Olufemi Akorede, Senior Special Assistant on Media & Communications to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State. In his release, he informed us about Kwara State Government preparation towards marking the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Kwara State. Infact, a 31 man committee has already started working, just to organise a befitting celebration. A celebration in which millions of our naira, will again be wasted on a meaningless charade by those whom providence has put in the seat of power. The annoying aspect is, there are so many people suffering and in serious pain as a result of unpaid salaries and entitlements. Yet, Kwara State Government would rather celebrate with their few friends and cronies than to put smiles on the faces of those ones who have being working for months without being paid.

STILL ON ANDREW YAKUBU: el-Rufa'i and Buhari are attacking prospective Southern Kaduna candidates for governor

We should not forget that Buhari was indicted in the disappearance of 2.8 million dollars in 1979 when he was the head of NNPC.There was serious corruption in PTF with billions of naira missing. When obasanjo investigated PTF, the consultant, who is buhari's Father inlaw died mysteriously.
Amechi, Fashola, Danbazzua are all indicted in various corruption cases and yet they are free men

This is all political. While not taking sides with wrong. We have to see convictions to be SURE this is not another Buhari wild goose chase!

THOSE WHO HAVE EARS LET THEM HEAR! BY JAYE GASKIA

There are several categories of opinions rampant among Nigerians, and particularly finding expression on the internet and social media with respect to attitude to the current government, two or three of which categories actually stinks and can be annoying were they not tragic.

There is a category of people who are simply opposed to this government because they remain supporters of the last government and ex-ruling party that was voted out and rejected at the last general elections.

Nigerian Army Clears the Air on Video Clip Alleging Maltreatment of Soldiers

The attention of Nigerian Army has been drawn to a video clip circulating on Social Media of soldiers alleging lack of food and water.

We wish to state that the video clip was shot more than six months ago by some mischievous and disgruntled elements when 29 Task Force Brigade captured Alagarno Forest and environs in Borno State.

It is disheartening that some mischievous elements have decided to circulate it now, creating the false impression that it is a recent occurrence.

Counter Extremism Project Unveils Technology to Combat Online Extremism

New algorithm will quickly and accurately identify extremist content on Internet and social media platforms, including images, videos, and audio clips

(New York, NY) — The Counter Extremism Project (CEP) announced yesterday the development of a technological solution that will allow Internet and social media companies to quickly remove extremist content from their platforms, coming on the heels of President Obama's remarks Tuesday that online extremist propaganda is pervasive and easily accessible. The application of this new technology will greatly reduce the ability of extremists and terrorists to weaponize online platforms to radicalize, recruit, and incite to violence.

“If we seize this opportunity and have partners across the social media spectrum willing to fight the extremist threat by deploying this technology, extremists will find Internet and social media platforms far less available for their recruiting, fundraising, propagandizing, and calls to violence,” said CEP Senior Advisor Dr. Hany Farid. “It is no longer a matter of not having the technological ability to fight online extremism, it is a matter of the industry and private sector partners having the will to take action.”

The Fulani vampires are at it again; silence of President Buhari, a moral tragedy!

Today, Enugu, my state is their target. Dozens of people have been reportedly killed and hundreds displaced with buildings including a Catholic church burnt.

This murderous group killed hundreds in ‪#‎Agatu‬ and occupied their land. The Fulani president did nothing. The Fulani headed DSS did nothing.

They went to Anioma in Delta state, abducted and killed their king. The fulani president did nothing. The Fulani headed DSS did nothing.

They went to Awgu community in Enugu state, killed dozens and abducted dozens. The Fulani president did nothing. The Fulani headed DSS did nothing. Only the police and the army did something this time: they arrested 78 indigenes of Awgu who are the victims and dumped them in prison and denied them bail on the allegation that they planned on attacking the fulanis. Meanwhile, the perpetrators were allowed to roam free

President Buhari, senators for talks to resolve budget crisis, Senate raised a committee ahead

SENATORS yesterday resolved to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari next week to end the budget row —amicably.

The meeting is to take place either Monday or Tuesday, depending on the President’s choice.

Ahead of next week’s meeting, the Senate has raised a committee to review the disputed items in the budget and harmonise them in line with what was presented to the National Assembly by the President, who has sent a list of the grey areas and mutilated items to the National Assembly. One of such areas is the Calabar-Lagos rail project.

The senators’ decision to meet with the President was the highlight of yesterday’s Executive Session.

Most senators were disturbed by four things at the closed door meeting, a source said. These are: breakdown of communication between the Presidency and the National Assembly; loss of public sympathy by the National Assembly; the proposed Occupy National Assembly protest; and negative effects of the budget impasse on the economy and the wellbeing of Nigerians.

It was gathered that most senators at the meeting were unhappy that public opinion was weighing against the National Assembly.

A committee comprising the chairmen of the Appropriation Committee (Danjuma Goje -Senate and Abdulmumin Jibrin-House of Representatives) and the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo-Udoma and others was formed.

Joe Igbokwe - Nigeria’s Mendacious Senate Breaks My Heart

Let me sincerely tender an unreserved apology to the few decent men and women in the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for using the above caption to describe them. I am led to use this caption because of the signals emanating from the 8th Senate since its inception last year. I am not trying to throw away the baby with the bathe water but to rebuke men and women who do not know what Nigerians need at this critical point in the nation’s history. I am trying to call to order these leaders who are yet to come to terms that Change is here to stay in Nigeria for the better. I am persuaded to call the Senators names because I have seen the Senate turning into a national broken mirror.

NIGERIA - A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE

I do not favour a divided Nigeria for numerous reasons. However, Nigeria seems to be naive about the present trend of events in Eastern Nigeria and the monstrous risk it brings to the table. The call for a breakout State is getting louder and more desperate especially among the youth, who in most countries always constitute the engine of successful uprising. They are more reachable on all variations of social media and have the energy and drive. The movement is getting organized worldwide with branches in many countries as seen on the internet. Let’s remember Tunisia, Georgia, Ukraine, Egypt, Libya, Yemen etc.

I have inquired directly from some moderate and educated activists, on the root cause of these sentiments in favour of a breakout or Biafra. Of all voices, the single common reason I heard from all was the hate-like attitude gaining popularity mainly among our Yoruba brothers and sisters. There were less complains of such slant directed towards the Hausas. It is alleged that an average Yoruba adult attaches strong negative sentiments to the phrase “Igbo man”. The remonstrance goes that Yorubas see Igbos as dominating the real estate business nationwide, trying to dominate commerce in the country and trade only in fake goods. However, the same Igbos I spoke to hold that the terms “Oluwole” and “Tokumbo” are not of Igbo origin and claim that the Yorubas are more fraudulent but louder. In all, this is a very unhealthy strapping debate for citizens of “one nation”. I will be immensely delighted if all I heard from these activists is false.

Buhari Will Shake Hands With Devils

That the Nigerian president-elect Muhammadu Buhari shakes hands with Lara Oshiomhole has sparked a heated debate on social media. Some say that the handshake was inappropriate from the viewpoint of some Islamic tenets. While others see nothing wrong with the handshake.

For me, Let Buhari give handshake to the Devil as long as it doesn't affect the delivery of good governance, anti corruption stance, stable power supply dream, employment and job creations, productive education for self sustainablity, security, etc.

Why Fayose Won! Elections in Nigeria are not won on social media

The elites on social media are as usual doing what they know best: Speaking elegant queen English about the emergence of Fayose as the unofficial Governor-elect of Ekiti State. I have read all manners of insult hurled at Ekiti People for choosing a tout over an intellectual and I laugh.

Most of us on social media especially the champions and overlords who gets comments, shares and retweets on our updates are disconnected from the reality that is Nigeria; social media is an effective tool for social re-engineering and mobilization. It is an avenue to network, release tensed up energy and be informed on the latest gist in town, but elections in Nigeria are not won on social media.

THE LAMENTATIONS AND TEARS OF ALMAJIRI UNITED - Fani-Kayode

Ever since I left Almajiri United they have been abusing me and getting their Haramite footsoldiers to attack me in the newspapers and on the social media. If I was never of any value to them and they never trusted me why the loud lamentations, the open aggression, the anger, the bitterness and the tears simply because I have left? Cant they just leave me alone? Out of respect for the few dear friends that I still have in the APC I have held my peace but if I am sufficiently provoked and I start on them they will be damaged beyond redemption.
