There are several categories of opinions rampant among Nigerians, and particularly finding expression on the internet and social media with respect to attitude to the current government, two or three of which categories actually stinks and can be annoying were they not tragic.

There is a category of people who are simply opposed to this government because they remain supporters of the last government and ex-ruling party that was voted out and rejected at the last general elections.

Corruption: Bad Governments Cannot Meet UN Anti-Poverty Goals – Obama

United State President, Mr.  Barack Obama has warned world leaders that they will not meet the new UN anti-poverty targets without tackling corruption and ending discrimination against women, gays and other marginalised groups.

President Obama spoke at the launch of the UN’s new sustainable development goals (SDGs) on Sunday in a diplomatic meet that has been overshadowed by conflicting Western and Russian approaches to Syria’s civil war.

This is National conference of election riggers – Delegate

A delegate to the ongoing National Conference in Abuja,  Aliyu Abdulkarreem has said that the Conference is full of active election riggers. 

Abdulkarreem who said this while contributing to the debate on report by the Committee on Political Parties and Electoral Matters in Abuja on Tuesday, recommended that stiffer penalties must be put in place to discourage election rigging in the country. 

He noted that the product of election rigging in the country had been bad governance and suggested that offenders must be shot to serve as deterrent to others.

“I want the Conference to look at the issue of rigging in the country. It is giving us bad government and that is why we are having bad governance. “Election riggers must be shot. This Conference is full of election riggers and, therefore, I move a motion that election riggers must be shot in order to serve as a deterrent to others.” 

If the President sacks Okupe & Wendell Simlin - Omojuwa

Japheth Omojuwa has lash out on the two special aids of the Nigerian President Jonathan for blackmailing him, maintaining that if the duo of  Doyin Okupe & Reno Omokri were sacked, the president may likely regain the ten percent of his lost popularity.

Omojuwa, a Nigerian blogger, socio-economic and political commentator said; "If the President sacks Okupe & Wendell Simlin, his popularity will increase by at least 10% just for that alone."

According to him, Reuben Abati can do the job of communicating the President Jonthan's agenda. If they must hire Reno & Okupe, may be to carry bags & phones. For instance, Reuben Abati is not evil, Reno Omokri is the representation of all that is evil. Reuben Abati is not dirty, Okupe is dirt.

APC PRESIDENTIAL TICKET: We Will Present The Best And Most Competent - Nasir El-RufaI

The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory,FCT, Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai has hinted that the All Progressive Congress, APC, will present to the nation in the 2015 general elections, the best , most competent and most acceptable candidates for the Nigeria highest and most exhorted positions of President and Vice President.

 Former Minister said, those speculating on this and advising me on all manners of persons and religions should know my views as follows: "APC will present an integrity-competence ticket not religion." "Politics and governance are not to be mixed or dictated to by any religion."

 El-Rufai insisted that The All Progressive Congress (APC) will present to Nigerians the best persons with the integrity, capacity and competence to create jobs, fight corruption and rebuild our nation without discrimination. How these persons worship the Almighty God is private to them and dies not matter to discerning Nigerians particularly young people that suffer most from bad governance, unemployment and the Jonathanian culture of impunity.
