Nigerian Soldiers repel Boko Haram attack in Adamawa

The Special Forces of the Nigeria Army on Thursday repelled another attack on Madagali headquarters of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State in the early hours of today. A security source said the insurgents started the operation at Maisuru-Dawa village before heading towards Madagali for another attack by 10.20am.

The source said that Special Forces on the ground were few and were in urgent need of reinforcement during the attack on Madagali. It was stated however that the timely response of the military saved the day as the insurgents were chased away by immediate reinforcements and a military jet deployed for the operation.

Military, Boko Haram Encounters: Hundreds of terrorists killed, 20 soldiers missing in Sambisa Forest fight

An estimated 2,000 Boko Haram insurgents were killed in a combined operation by Special Forces and the men of the Nigeria Air Force on Friday and Saturday in the volatile Sambisa Forest of Borno State, which has become a prominent hideout of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

Punch reports that that would have been a great victory for the Special Forces was, however, marred by an operational misunderstanding between the ground troops and the officers in the Air Force Alpha Jet. Investigations revealed that 20 soldiers are still missing as a result of the operational misunderstanding.

Boko Haram camps: Army Destroyed Gulf Cars With IEDs In Borno State

Nigeria Troops in Borno state have destroyed several gulf cars that were laden with Improvised Explosive Devices by the Boko Haram insurgents in the North East.

Investigation revealed that the insurgents wired the IEDS to the gulf cars known as the operational vehicle of choice to the insurgents, while fleeing camps that came under bombardment from troops of the Nigerian Army and air Force fighter jets in Bama, sambisa and other areas of Borno State.

With the reports that the ongoing military campaign against the Boko Haram insurgents have recorded what security sources described as one of the greatest breakthroughs in the  campaign against Boko Haram terrorists  in the North-East.

That the Special Forces, comprising ground troops and the Air Force fighters, had demobilized one of the strongest fortresses of the Boko Haram sect.

Army sources said that the camp was well planned with boreholes, dispensary and other facilities to aid the operations of the insurgents.
