What has the United Kingdom just done to itself, its people and the future of its youth?

It is difficult to fully understand why a country in taking a decision about its future will decide on a false option that seems to negate long-term interests.

And this, just because a total of 17.4 million people out of over 61 million chose to vote against the United Kingdom’s continued membership of the EU.

More than 50% of these pro-Brexit voters are actually between the age bracket: 50-70.

Thus an ageing class of voters has taken a decision to undermine the future of the younger generation.

Pro-EU Prime Minister David Cameron said he was “courageous and optimistic” when in January 2014, he tried to justify the need for a referendum.

BRAZIL EXCLUSIVE: Super Eagles demand World Cup appearance cash

AfricanFootball.com can exclusively reveal that Nigeria stars led by skipper Joseph Yobo and Mikel Obi have met with the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to demand an appearance fee for the World Cup.

This is outside the match bonus, which starts at $10,000-a-man for a first round match win, announced for the players for Brazil 2014.

“The players led by Yobo and Mikel met with NFF president Aminu Maigari and some of his officials to demand for their own share of the cash FIFA will pay the country for at least featuring in the first round of the World Cup,” a top source informed AfricanFootball.com

Nigeria will already earn more than $9 million for qualification and participation in the first round of the 2014 World Cup and they will get more if they reach the knockout stages of the competition.

Stephen Keshi to Name His 23man Eagle Squads today

The Head Coach of the World Cup bound Super Eagles of Nigeria, Stephen Keshi, who has delayed his final list of the team to the world cup to the last minutes may release the names of his killer squad today.

The Big Boss says he already had an idea of his final 23-man list to the global tournament in Brazil but would wait till last minute to name his squad. the delayed would enable him do double checks on the list and the possibility of finding those who may not be measure up when hostilities start in Brazil.

FIFA had set Monday June 2 as the deadline for all participating teams to submit their final list and Keshi said that he was willing to take full advantage of the time left by only revealing his list on the said date. The Media Officer of the Senior National Team, Ben Alaiya, was said to have quoted Keshi saying, “I have an idea of those who will go with us to Brazil but we will still wait till the last minute before we announce the list.”

Latest FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Eagles Move Two Positions Up

Super Eagles of Nigeria were ranked 47th in the last Fifa rankings following their goalless draw with Mexico in last month’s international friendly, while Europe occupies the top three places on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking after Portugal climbed third behind leaders Spain and Germany.

They are followed by four South American sides in Colombia, (4th, up 1), Uruguay (5th, up 1) and fierce rivals Argentina (down 3) and Brazil (up 3), who share sixth position. Just 12 points separate this quartet. Greece return to the top ten for the first time since October 2012, while Scotland moved up 15 places to the 22nd position in the world.
