It is nice to be back here again after our last release which was early hour of this week Wednesday.
The Fantastically Corrupt Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Former Executive Governor of Delta State, who was arrested in Dubai and extradited to United Kingdom to face criminal proceedings for money laundering is now back.
The man is finally back home, having completed his jail term in far away Britain. During his arrival, as our team began to upload the pictures of the superlative and befitting welcome back from jail, he received from his people, we were at loss!
HMMNNN!!! So, all these people went out there to welcome back a convicted and jailed thief! No wonder, Delta State is grossly underdeveloped when compared with the amount of money in billions acruing to the State as allocation from Federal Government. Delta State being an oil producing State, has an allocation far more when compared to a State like Kwara. However, a journey around various communities within that State, reveals so much poverty, backwardness, deprivation and squalor. James Ibori, via his 8 years rule as Executive Governor of Delta State, contributed immensely to ensuring that Delta State Citizens remain poor, yet people of his State celebrated him on his arrival from Prison he served in United Kingdom!
Our team who were in Delta State during his arrival and who witnessed as he was being celebrated, decided to interview people of his State to ask why he was being celebrated! We asked an elderly man who gave is name as Benedict Christopher, he claimed that Obirigbobo digbo..... As Ibori is fondly called, is a good ambassador of Oghara in Delta State. He said the man identified with his people all throughout his 8 years reign as Governor of Delta State. He said, he empowered the people of Delta State and also gave them the dividends of Democracy. Our team asked him to specify in concrete terms, what he meant by "Dividends of Democracy".
He said the man tarred roads, built bridges culverts, embarked on housing schemes etc. Our team now decided to ask the man if he was aware that James Ibori laundered more than 120 million dollars to UK. The man suddenly became hostile. He said Na only James Ibori thief money ni? Meaning, is it only James Ibori that embezzled public funds? His shouts and hostile tone attracted the attention of other community members. Our team had to apply wisdom so that it wouldn't turn to another thing. Our team then departed that place and went to another place. In their new destination, they decided to interview a middle aged lady, named Florence Obiora.
The lady is in her late 50's. Her replies wasn't so different from that of Benedict, the only exception was, she was calm and confrontational. She said, since Hausa people don dey chop oil money, wetin Nigeria take do them? It was then we began to understand why Delta people were seriously in support of Ibori. They were supporting their kinsman who stole from them, because "when Hausa people embezzled money, heaven did not fall".
This is the same reason why majority of corrupt politicians in Nigeria are receiving wide support from their kinsmen. They are stealing public funds; our collective resources, spend small pitiable amounts to some of the people they have impoverished and they become their Gods. No Wonder!!! A similar thing happened when Commodore Bode George was released from prison! WHEN SHALL WE LEARN AS PEOPLE? To make matter worse, youths whose future has been destroyed and bastardised as a result of massive looting of government funds, are the people who populate this shameful welcome procession. Wonders shall never end! We are going to any extent in celebrating thieves and treasury looters, while Nigerians who have done a lot of good for the Country are treated like outcasts. Typical examples are the Female National Team and the Nigerian Male Football Olympic Squad.
The issue is "WHEN GOOD PEOPLE REMAIN INACTIVE, EVIL WILL ALWAYS PREVAIL". Good people have remained silent for damned too long. It is time for you good people to begin to come out and stake claim to issues. You people having good report! You people having a vision and mission! It is time for you to come out!... Until you start coming out, this Country will remain as it is. We enjoin the youths of Kwara who has started the struggle, to continue the good work. We are aware that series of youth and young at hearts meetings are going on in Kwara State. We are aware that progressive elders meetings are going on in Kwara State.
We are aware that series of consultations are going on in Kwara State. Continue doing so! Be honest, detribalised, de-religionised and focused. KWARA YOUTHS AND NIGERIA YOUTHS AS A WHOLE MUST BEAR IN MIND THAT WE ARE NEVER LEADERS OF TOMORROW AS THEY ASSERT! WE ARE LEADERS OF TODAY, NOW, NOW and NOW!
The Youths Train in Kwara State is still gathering momentum! We are seriously watching its progression! May Almighty God help us in Kwara State! God Bless Kwara State! God Heal our Dear President, Muhammadu Buhari! God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria!
