We are going to again continue on this topic, as we wish to via it continue awaken the spirits of the Youths of Kwara State. Youths who have being reduced to ordinary garage touts, politically naive simpletons and bag carriers. We believe that certain Kwara Youths are better qualified to run the affairs of this State better than the bunch of the half baked individuals we are seeing on parade holding offices and portfolios of which they are not contributing anything meaningful towards the the progress of Kwara State and comfort of its citizenry. Simply look at the boards appointment made! How many technocrats and sharp brains were selected as members of the board? They have simply turned State Institutions to become instruments of giving political settlement to their political cronies and luciferous supporters who have nothing upstairs! If not, how will any sensible government appoint an illiterate as Commissioner for Education and stark illiterate as a member of the board of an Academic Institution?
They are simply mismanaging and ruining our State! How can they remove the Fantastically Corrupt Lanre Daibu (a core politician and non strategist) as Chairman of Kwara State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB) and appoint Ladi Hassan (another core politician and non strategist). No wonder why that sector is riddled and enmeshed in controversy. Let us now go to the issue of discuss in this season! We want to discuss the issue of COMPLACENCY! When you are suffering from a particular fate, omen, leadership or event; and you accept your fate and refuse to do anything about it.
It implies, you are COMPLACENT! KWARA YOUTHS, YOU ARE DAMN TOO COMPLACENT! WE WANT TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE OF TIMIDITY AND COWARDICE! The two will be discussed side by side! Although, they have different meaning! One has always being found to head to the other... A timid person is someone who is afraid of taking the initiative!
A timid person is a person who has a certain claim, but does not have the courage to stake a hold just to ensure he achieves his claim!... A coward person however is someone who lives in fear of everything! A coward is not bold or courageous enough at taking risks! The reason why Kwara State became as bad as it is, isn't because Saraki (Senior and Junior) has enough charm to dominate the State and isn't because they are wealthy than other Kwarans or they are influential ahead of other Fellow Kwarans! They have only acted in wisdom and pursued their goals courageously without being timid! It took courage on the part of Late Senator (Dr.) Abubakar Olusola Saraki, to challenge two seating Governors namely Adamu Attah (Late) in 1983, and Mohammed Alabi Lawal (Late) in 2003! It took courage for Senator Bukola Saraki to leave the then Ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) and join All Progressives Congress (APC), which was then an opposition party. If the Youths of this State are to wrestle power from Kwara Political Overlord, they must never be TIMID nor exhibit any form of COWARDICE!
By the special grace of God, in the next few seasons of this topic, we will be going down memory lane in various Countries and foresee how young men rose above their timidity and faint hearts to bring down empires! We are going to start from the story of young men in the Countries Colonised by Britain. Our choice of starting with Britain is not far fetched! Britain is called "Great" because its youths never wallowed in COMPLACENCY, TMIDITY or COWARDICE! The young men and women of Great Britain are individuals who never daunted by the enormity of the challenges that besets them.
The youths of Britain are NO NONSENSE people who will not follow any leader blindly or remain subservient to a person that proves to be undeserving of their loyalty. British youths will never be loyal to a leader who will not lead by example. They will never bow to a leader who considers himself better than others. This is why their economy is booming inspite of the recession and their lack of National Resources.
Nigeria on the other hand is so resourceful, that every citizen ought to be a billionaire. But our wealth is being trapped in the hands of handful few people who have mastered the art of subjugating the wills of others. Our historical study start with Prince Edward, who later became King Edward 1. This small boy like many of you Kwara Youths were born at a time of political turmoil and civil war in England. He used a mixture of ingenuity, courage and dynamic/creative thinking to make himself relevant at the young age of twenty six years! Yes, 26! At that age and above, many of you youths hear in Kwara are actively chanting names of luciferous politicians and political office holders because of #200 or #500.
This guy command the Royalist Army to defeat the Army of the Parliament. He was a very skilled Military Commander who always led his men at the war front. These are the types of examples we need to emulate. Not politicians who allowed their children to party away in the Best Hotels in the world, while Teachers in Kwara State were complaining, suffering, hungary and dying of hunger. We must not forget William Wallace of Scotland. This man, the son of a small land owner, who will later challenge the English Royal Army is another typical example of bravery.
The story which was later acted as a film called BRAVE HEART in which MEL GIBSON starred as William Wallace is an important point of reference. Oppressors will never never be in short supply. Oppression and Executive high handedness didn't start today in our land, it has already being in existence long before our Great Grandfather was born. The event of William Wallace took place in 1270 to 1305. William Wallace was a Great Leader and a solid patriot. He resisted the high handedness of the English Overlords, defeating their armies on a number of occasions until he was betrayed by some of his own people for chicken change and handed over to his enemies. Although, he died but the spirit of revolution which he had planted was never extinguished.
The Scots would some years later defeat the English and win their freedom. This story brought the fore the issue of chicken change! Eyin Iya wa ti enlo si Ile loke, kin ni #200 Saraki so yin da loni? To complicate matters, Police and Civil Defence are beating some of you with koboko! Yet, you are still going there like goats! WHO HAS BEWITCHED ALL OF YoU? SINCE BABA SARAKI DIED, DID THE WORLD STOP ROTATING? "ERAN TI PE ERU OLOHUN NIYIN, EKIN SE ERU ENIYAN". Who told you that if given a chance, we do not have many in Kwara who are far better than Saraki? Who told you that there are no people in Ilorin that are far better than Saraki? Why as youths, you are not realising that you possessed the brains and strength to perform far better than the luciferous old cargoes milking our collective resources? But you just simply sold your soul to Saraki.
KWARA YOUTHS, we have tasted enough of this slavery! OUR VOICE WILL NOT BE SILENCED! This Year, whenever the Local Council Elections is fixed in Kwara State, YOU MUST ALL JOIN THE YOUTHS TRAIN AND LAY A CLAIM TO THE GOVERNANCE OF YOUR LOCALITY! WE ARE BETTER QUALIFIED TO BE LEADER! WE ARE BETTER QUALIFIED TO PROFFER SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS OF OUR STATE! WE ARE BETTER QUALIFIED TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS OF YOUTHS UNEMPLOYMENT IN OUR STATE! WE ARE BETTER QUALIFIED TO ALLEVIATE POVERTY STRATEGICALLY CREATED BY OUR POLITICAL LEADERS IN KWARA STATE! WE ARE ABLE, WE ARE OVER CAPABLE!...
