A National Conference delegate, Ibrahim Bunu said on Wednesday that he had information that members of the dreaded Boko Haram were planning to attack over 50 towns and villages in Borno State. Bunu, who was a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated this while speaking at the plenary of the conference. He said he had information that the members of the sect were serious about the planned attack.
Bunu said he got the information though a telephone call and that there was the need to beef up security in Borno State in particular and the country as a whole. “Mr. Chairman, this is the information I have to give the conference,” he added.
