Lagos State Inagurates LAISEC - Ambode Remarks

Remarks Delivered By His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, Governor Of Lagos State At The Inauguration Of The Chairman And Members Of The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LAISEC) Held On Wednesday 29th June, 2016

We have just witnessed the swearing in ceremony for the new Chairman and members of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission.

This ceremony is coming after the Lagos State House of Assembly carried out due diligence and subsequent confirmation of the Chairman and members of the Commission. I thank the Right Honourable Speaker and members of the Assembly for their cooperation and understanding.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission is a statutory body with the responsibility of conducting local government elections in the State. The Commission therefore has a critical role in the democratic process of the State.

Local Government Reforms Crucial To Grassroot Development - Ambode

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday expressed optimism that the newly amended laws on the Local Government system in the state would bring about a massive reform in the third tier of government, which would in turn translate into a renaissance to create prosperity and good governance for the people.
Governor Ambode, who spoke at the Lagos House, Alausa during the signing ceremony of three amended laws, described the Local Government as unarguably the most critical level of governance in the State, a development which he said necessitated the need for the reforms.

May Day: I salute workers in the State as we mark this year’s May Day celebration - Ambode

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Sunday saluted workers in the State as they marked this year’s May Day celebration, just as he attributed the success story in Lagos to the dedication and commitment of its workforce.
The Governor who was represented by the Head of Service, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola at the May Day Rally held at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos said that every society must remember and appreciate its workers as they are the real heroes of the society, adding that Workers Day was about remembering and celebrating those who gave their time, best efforts and worked hard for the good of the society.

AMBODE ORDERS EXTENSIVE REPAIR OF LAGOS-BADAGRY EXPRESSWAY

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has ordered the State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) to immediately embark on extensive repair on the ever busy Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

Listed roads earmarked for repairs to include Iyana Ishasi - Ribamu Bus Stop (both sides), Ketu Bus Stop - Cele Nica, FGC Ijanikan - Iyana Era, ACOED Pedestrian Bridge - Alafia Bus Stop, Former Toll Gate – Ibiye/Morogbo and Pure Water Bus Stop – Magbon (both sides).

List Of Lagos State Commissioners: 23 Commissioners, 13 SA

Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has appointed 23 commissioners and 13 special advisers in his cabinet.
In the list of cabinet members presented  to the House of Assembly for approval. The Speaker of the Lagos House Assembly, Mr. Mubashiru Obasa, read the names on the floor to members. The Governor is requesting for the screening and approval of 36 persons with 23 as Commissioners and 13 as Special Advisers.
