Fuel to sell for #145 per litre says FG: “We shall resist this increase” - NLC

The Nigerian Labour Congress on Wednesday said it would resist the federal government’s scrapping of fuel subsidy and increase of petrol price to about N145 per litre.

“The unilateral increase in prices of petroleum products today by government represents the height of insensitivity and impunity and shall be resisted by the Nigeria Labour Congress and its civil society allies,” the congress said, through a statement by its General Secretary, Peter Ozo-Eson.

The statement added, “With the imposition on the citizenry of criminal and unjustifiable electricity tariff and resultant darkness and other economic challenges brought on by the devaluation of the Naira and spiraling inflation, the least one had expected at this point in time was another policy measure that would further make life more miserable for the ordinary Nigerian

Bailout Funds: ICPC never indicted Osun - Aregbesola Tells Osun Workers

Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola said yesterday that the state has not been indicted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on the disbursement of bail-out cash.
The governor, who spoke to workers at Osogbo township stadium during the Workers’ Day event, said the anti-corruption agency had written to him to clarify the matter.

According to the governor, there was no truth in the rumour that Osun was among the states indicted by the anti graft body.

He said: “I want to also assure you, contrary to the insinuation being made by our traducers, who claimed we diverted the bailout funds, that nothing of such happened. This is the concoction of a mischievous opposition and their media conspirators.

NYANYA BOMB BLAST; Terror Attacks In Abuja Unacceptable - NLC

The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC has strongly condemned the Abuja bomb blasts that claims many live early this morning at a Nyanya Bus Stop, Suburb of FCT; the explosion which left scores dead, especially workers, NLC said is as barbaric as it is condemnable. Adding that It is a sore reminder that the battle against terror is far from over. It is also a reminder that there are no safe havens.
