United Nations' Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon is scheduled to be the special guest at the 23rd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union. The assembly is to hold in Malabo, Equitorial Guinea from June 20 to 27 June.
A statement issued by the office of the Chairperson of the AU Commission, Dr Dlamini Zuma on Friday in Addis Ababa, added that Spain’s Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy-Brey, is also attending.
It said that already the AU Commission Chairperson had arrived in Malabo on Thursday, ahead of the summit. The Summit is being hosted by the President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, under the theme “Agriculture and Food Security”.
The statement noted that the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government would be preceded by a session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee.
