No Deal Between United And Mourinho - Sky Sources

No agreement has been reached between Manchester United and Jose Mourinho over the manager's job at Old Trafford reports Sky Sports News HQ.

Jos Mourinho is reportedly keen on the post should United look to replace Louis van Gaal in the summer.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss reportedly signed agreement with the Manchester United as speculation continues to surround Van Gaal's future despite the Dutchman leading United to their first FA Cup final for nine years and with them still in contention for a place in next season's Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Laurent Blanc is another linked with the post but Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino is out of the running after agreeing a new five-year deal with the Londoners.

Manchester United dismiss Louis van Gaal deal reports

Manchester United have dismissed press reports in the Netherlands that the club had agreed a three-year deal with Louis van Gaal for him to replace the sacked David Moyes as coach.

Popular broadsheet De Telegraaf said on Saturday that "the national coach (Van Gaal) late last (Friday) night reached a deal with the top British club," to take over as manager after the World Cup.

"The man who's the absolute No 1 to replace axed coach David Moyes will immediately take up the job when the Dutch Eleven is knocked out of the World Cup in Brazil," the paper added.

Van Gaal, 62, who has been on holiday at his villa in Portugal's Algarve "has been in talks with Ed Woodward, lawyer for club owners the Glazer brothers for a multi-year, multi-million contract," it said, without citing any sources.

But United, who have put veteran player Ryan Giggs in charge until the end of the season, quickly denied the reports.

How Bale Destroyes Lionel Messi To Settle Copa del Rey final

It may have cost a reported $134 million to bring Gareth Bale to Spain, but on Wednesday he scored a priceless goal as Real Madrid beat archrivals Barcelona 2-1 to win the Copa del Rey. The Welshman, who was signed from Tottenham Hotspur in September 2013, produced a stunning solo strike to give Real their first trophy under Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Real's triumph condemned Barca to three successive defeats for the first time since January 2003 and crushed the Catalan team's final realistic chance of winning silverware this season.

Mourinho Continues to Downplay Chelsea’s Title Hopes

Jose Mourinho has told his squad that he fully expects them to win the league this season, according to the Daily Mirror.

Chelsea are top of the table with 13 matches to go after a comfortable home win against Newcastle, on the same day that title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City both failed to win.

But Jose Mourinho still does not think Blues can win the title. One cannot help but think that Mourinho is playing mind games with the rest of the Premier League so as to avoid pressure on his team.

Mourinho has played down talk of his side winning the league in the media, but behind closed doors the Portuguese maestro told his players that they will win the league.

After a disappoint draw at home to West Ham, Chelsea have impressed with wins against Manchester City and Newcastle.

The Blues face Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton before the end of March as well as big games in the Champions League and FA Cup but Mourinho remains confident.

A Daily Mirror source said: “Jose told the players before the West Ham game that they would hear him talk down their title chances.

“He told them to pay no attention because his intention was to take the pressure off the team and put others under the microscope.

“He also told the players that he believes they will be champions this season.”

Manchester City's manager, Manuel Pellegrini, mocks José Mourinho's 'little horse' comment, saying Chelsea may be small but they are very rich.

Mourinho's comments have been widely teased, especially in light of Chelsea's move to the top of the table.

Pellegrini also comments on the Premier League title race and its top contenders.
