NIGERIA WOULD HAVE DISINTEGRATED IF ............. SAGAY

Nigeria would have either disintegrated or be confronted with harsh economic crisis similar to that of Zimbabwe had Dr. Goodluck Jonathan been re-elected as president in 2015, eminent lawyer, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), declared on Thursday.

Sagay, who is Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), faulted those comparing the current administration with the immediate past regime and seeking a return to the lawless past because of the prevailing economic challenges.

The lawyer, who said the government was laying a solid foundation and building solid structures to combat corruption, hinted of plans to establish a special court to try corruption and kidnapping, among others.

Economic Crisis: Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun Says Nigeria Has Not Applied For An IMF Loan Because It Is 'Not Sick'

Kemi Adeosun
ABUJA (Reuters) - Nigeria, which is going through its worst economic crisis in years, has not turned to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for financial assistance because it is "not sick", its finance minister said.

Africa's top oil exporter, which has the continent's biggest economy, has been hit hard by the fall in crude prices since oil sales account for around 70 percent of its income.

The economy grew 2.8 percent last year, its slowest pace in decades, and in March annual inflation rose to a near four year high of 12.8 percent.

TB Joshua predicts economic doom for Ghana

Famous Nigerian Pastor, T.B. Joshua has asked Ghanaians to pray for the recovery of their local currency. He has also predicted frightening economic doom and downturn for Ghana.

The cedi has drastically fallen in value against the dollar and other major international currencies.

The situation has compelled the Bank of Ghana to announce a tall list of measures aimed at shoring up the Cedi. The Bank has also injected US$20 million into critical sectors of the economy toward the same end.

XYZ News monitored, via Emmanuel TV on Sunday, Prophet Joshua’s live sermon to his congregation at the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN), headquartered in Nigeria, at which event he said Ghana, as well as Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya, will suffer certain economic challenges this year.

In Ghana’s case, Prophet Joshua said it was imperative the country’s Christians prayed for the currency to hold its own against the dollar and other currencies so as to forestall economic crisis.

‘…The nation Ghana, economic crises I’m seeing. They should pray for their currency. Economic crises [are] the challenges they will have there,’ he warned.

T.B. Joshua’s call for divine intervention for the Cedi is the second of such spiritual exercise entreated by a man of God.

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams of the Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM) in Ghana’s national capital, Accra, was the first to ask for such prayers.

The Presiding Bishop and General Overseer led his congregation on Sunday February 2, 2013, to pray thus: “…I hold up the cedi with prayer, and I command the cedi to recover and I declare the cedi will not fall; it will not fall any further. I command the cedi to climb. I command the resurrection of the cedi. I command and release a miracle for the economy”.

He took a lot of flak for his divine intervention but stood his ground and said he saw nothing wrong with his prayer.
