Unsuspected ritualists Invades Edo, Killed four persons

Unsuspected ritualists has invaded the sleeping town of Ubiaja, Headquarters of Esan South East local government Area killing four persons with their sensitive parts removed.

The lawmaker representing the area in the state house of Assembly, Mr Festus Udughele told the Parliament at their yesterday sitting that activities of unidentified hoodlums had led to the killing of some persons with their bodies mutilated.

The Latest on anti-government protests in Iraq. Iraqi security forces have fired tear gas on protesters at one of the entrances to the Green Zone as hundreds of supporters of Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr continue to stream into the highly fortified government compound.

Associated Press reporters at the scene say thousands of protesters have entered the Green Zone since breaching the walls and storming parliament earlier on Saturday.

The heavily guarded area is home to most government ministries and foreign embassies.

The entry of the protesters marks a major escalation after months of demonstrations and sit-ins by al-Sadr's followers, who are calling for wide-ranging political reforms aimed at combatting corruption and waste.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara, has said the National Assembly and the Executive are likely to resolve issues surrounding the 2016 budget very soon.

Dogara, who made this known when he received a delegation of All Progressives Congress elders and stakeholders from Kwande/Oshongo federal constituency of Benue State in the National Assembly, 

He also stated that the executive and the parliament will not have any fight over their differences arising from the 2016 budget as passed by the National Assembly.

He stated: “We know that our people cannot wait forever for the budget and as a responsible government, we cannot afford to go to sleep on this."

ABUJA (Reuters) - Nigeria, which is going through its worst economic crisis in years, has not turned to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for financial assistance because it is "not sick", its finance minister said.

Africa's top oil exporter, which has the continent's biggest economy, has been hit hard by the fall in crude prices since oil sales account for around 70 percent of its income.

The economy grew 2.8 percent last year, its slowest pace in decades, and in March annual inflation rose to a near four year high of 12.8 percent.

I read the grave allegations made by an Australian by the name of Mr. Stephen Davis about those that he believes are behind Boko Haram in the 29th August edition of Thisday Newspaper. He made some very serious allegations, he mentioned names and I would be interested in seeing the hard evidence that he claims to have.

I have always said that I believe that anyone, no matter which political party that person belongs to and no matter how highly placed or powerful that person may be, that is involved with Boko Haram ought to be captured, caged, flogged and brought to justice because I regard such people as nothing but bloodthirsty beasts.

I have also always said that I believe that some of the leading members of the opposition APC are secret sponsors and supporters of Boko Haram and I am glad that Mr. Davis appears to share this view and that he has indeed confirmed my worst fears in his celebrated interview with Arise TV.
