The general public is here advised to disregard an unsubstantiated allegation made by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and which appeared in some newspapers today, that INEC has "handed over original copies of result sheets (of the Dec 10 Re-run election in Rivers State) to Minister of Transport, Mr Rotimi Ameachi."The Commission hereby affirms that the allegation is baseless and totally untrue. The Commission also wishes to assures Nigerians that it will continue to discharge its duties according to the rules governing its mandate, without fear or favour and with a very high sense of responsibility.
