My dear Senate President, 
You have to resign and go.

I am not asking you to resign because I agree with those baying for your political blood. They are worse than you. In all aspects. But you are not better either. I hate the politics of you and your late father in Kwara State. Your father elevated the politics of subservience and fiefdom to criminal level. You built on it and surpassed him.

In 1979, your father supported the late Adamu Attach for governor and he won. Both were in the NPN. Your father went to the Senate but he won't let Attach have peace of mind in Ilorin. By 1981, the two had fallen apart beyond repairs. What did your father do? He pitched his tent with Cornelius Adebayo of UPN and the latter won and became governor.

Fast-forward 16 years later. Your father supported Mohammed Lawal, a retired rear admiral, equivalent of a major general, and he became governor. But again they fell out. Kwara became almost ungovernable. "Up Lawal", a group of roughnecks set up by Lawal unleashed mayhem on Ilorin in the battle of supremacy with your father. Your father too responded. While he could not match Lawal in violence, he showed him he was a better politician and owner of Kwara. He moved to PDP from ANPP and presented you as candidate. You won.

While I do not support avoidable gallivanting and frolicking of the breadth and length of the Terra firma by supposed suzerains of the new found democratic ethos and ethics in the vanguard of the APC- and any other party-, it is my thinking that what President Jonathan has done in this case and in many other cases involving Amaechi and other seeming 'troublesome' governors in particular is to increase their popularity and make people have positive affection for them as the President continues to hunt them down even for matters that can go without some hullabaloo. And, in most cases, the hunted is hunted just for the stupid reason of being in the opposition!

Ekiti Poll: WHO IS DECEIVING WHO?

The same old story that characterized our elections in Nigeria is far from been nip in the bud. INEC plans to conduct a caricature of election in Ekiti state come this weekend, the signs of failure and rigging are already emerging and are obvious.

The refusal of Amaechi and Kwankwaso to pay a solidarity visit to Ekiti ahead of the election in defence of their party is really a case study.

It did happen in Anambra and it is about to happen in Ekiti again.
