President Buhari Tells Newly Promoted Officers - Justify Your Promotions

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja charged public officers entrusted with certain responsibilities to live up to their duties and justify the confidence reposed in them as this was the only way Nigeria can get out of the current hardships facing the nation.

Report from the office of the SSA on Media and Publicity to President Buhari shows the statement said by the President while decorating two of the newly promoted officers of the Nigerian Police Force deployed to his office with their new ranks.

"I am today faced with mixed feelings. I have that instinctive happiness for being the one chosen among an array of senior colleagues and competent contemporaries, to take the mantle of leadership of this very professional institution. I also feel heavy around my shoulders, the burden of leadership and expectations. This call to duty is by no means a small challenge; it is a huge task that requires absolute commitment. I am humbled and challenged by the decision of Mr. President."


The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, today charged all staff of the Commission to brace up for fresh and greater challenges in the arduous task of combating corruption.
