It is that time of the year when Muslim faithful all over the world take to spend the daylight hours in a complete fast where they abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs.
Muslims are expected to make peace with those who have wronged them, strengthen ties with family and friends, do away with bad habits, essentially to clean up their lives, thoughts, and feelings.
During Ramadan, every part of the body must be restrained, the tongue must be restrained from backbiting and gossip, the eyes must restrain themselves from looking at unlawful things, especially the half naked babes that strut the streets,t he hand must not touch (a woman or a man) or take anything that does not belong to it., the ears must refrain from listening to idle talk or obscene words, the feet must refrain from going to sinful places. In such a way, every part of the body observes the fast.
Islam gives guidance about all aspects of life, including matters of public decency. Islam has no fixed standard as to the style of dress or type of clothing that Muslims must wear. However, some minimum requirements must be met. Islam has two sources for guidance and rulings: the Quran which is considered to be the revealed word of Allah, and the Hadith or traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, who serves as a guide.
