SIX Fashion Requirements for Muslim Women During the Month of Ramadan

It is that time of the year when Muslim faithful all over the world take to spend the daylight hours in a complete fast where they abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs.

Muslims are expected to make peace with those who have wronged them, strengthen ties with family and friends, do away with bad habits, essentially to clean up their lives, thoughts, and feelings.

During Ramadan, every part of the body must be restrained, the tongue must be restrained from backbiting and gossip, the eyes must restrain themselves from looking at unlawful things, especially the half naked babes that strut the streets,t he hand must not touch (a woman or a man) or take anything that does not belong to it., the ears must refrain from listening to idle talk or obscene words, the feet must refrain from going to sinful places. In such a way, every part of the body observes the fast.

Islam gives guidance about all aspects of life, including matters of public decency. Islam has no fixed standard as to the style of dress or type of clothing that Muslims must wear. However, some minimum requirements must be met. Islam has two sources for guidance and rulings: the Quran which is considered to be the revealed word of Allah, and the Hadith or traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, who serves as a guide.

CONFIRMED: Jonathan received new video of abducted girls begging for their lives

The Presidency yesterday confirmed receiving a new video showing the abducted Chibok schoolgirls begging for their lives. 

The Girls were seen pleading with President Jonathan to help rescue them from their Boko Haram captors. 

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, made the confirmation in an interview with CNN aired last night. 

The British newspaper Mail on Sunday had reported that the video was delivered to the Presidency by a Boko Haram intermediary as “proof of life” for the girls and to encourage the President to accede to the sect’s demands.

The Boko Haram Leader Abubakar Shekau in a  27-minute video showing some girls all wearing hijab has been released by Boko Haram says the CNN.

They are suspected to be the girls kidnapped from Chibok nearly a month ago. 

The girls were also seen reciting verses from the Quran, the CNN said, suggesting that they have been converted to Islam. 

International Muslim scholars condemn kidnapping of schoolgirls by Boko Haram

JIDDAH, Saudi Arabia -- Top Islamic religious scholars working under the world's largest bloc of Islamic countries condemn the kidnapping of more than 270 Nigerian schoolgirls, calling for their immediate release. The kidnappings three weeks ago by the extremist group Boko Haram have led to worldwide condemnation. 

The group's leader has used Islamic teachings as justification for threatening to sell the girls into slavery.

The Islamic Fiqh Academy, which is based in Saudi Arabia and dedicated to the advanced study of Islam, said that this "crime and other crimes committed by the likes of these extremist organizations contradicts all humanitarian principles and moral values and violates the provisions of the Quran and Sunnah," or teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
