NOTHING IS PERMANENT: Britain votes to leave EU in historic divorce, pressure on PM Cameron to resign

Britain has voted to leave the European Union, results from Thursday's landmark referendum showed, an outcome that sets the country on an uncertain path and deals the largest setback to European efforts to forge greater unity since World War Two.

World financial markets dived as nearly complete results showed a 51.8/48.2 percent split for leaving. Sterling suffered its biggest one-day fall of more than 10 percent against the dollar, hitting a 31-year low on market fears the decision will hit investment in the world's 5th largest economy.

The vote will initiate at least two years of messy divorce proceedings with the EU, raise questions over London's role as a global financial capital and put huge pressure on Prime Minister David Cameron to resign, though he pledged during the campaign to stay on whatever the result.

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in London urged the international community to urgently create anti-corruption infrastructure and a strategic action plan to facilitate the speedy recovery and repatriation of stolen funds hidden in secret bank accounts abroad.

According to Femi Adesina whoo is the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, speaking at the opening of the Anti-Corruption Summit hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain, President Buhari said that new measures against corruption that will be adopted by the summit should also include mechanisms that will assist countries like Nigeria to combat illegal activities such as crude oil theft to which, he said, Nigeria loses about $7 Billion annually.

President Muhammadu Buhari pledged Thursday in London that in furtherance of his administration's ongoing war against corruption, Nigeria will soon begin the full implementation of the principles of the Open Contracting Data Standard.

According to Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina , in Nigeria's country statement to the Anti-Corruption Summit hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain, President Buhari said that the Federal Government will apply the Open Contracting Data Standard to major projects in the oil, transportation, power, health, education and other sectors.

Britain Announces £1.1 billion In Defense Spending To Fight Terrorists and Cyber Attacks

A huge investment is to be made in Britain's military to fight its "unseen enemies", including cyber attacks and terrorism.  Prime Minister David Cameron will announce the £1.1 billion package of investment in military capabilities, such as drones, at the first day of the Farnborough Air Show today.

Writing in The Daily Telegraph, he insisted Britain "cannot defend the realm from the white cliffs of Dover". He wrote: "Today's investment demonstrates our approach to national security. There are those who believe we would be safer if we fundamentally retreated from the world.

"They see new warships and military investment and imagine a government bent on foreign adventurism.
