Musa to Captain Eagles Against Senegal, B/Faso friendlies - Rohr

Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa will wear the skipper’s band when Nigeria take on Senegal and Burkina Faso in two high profile friendly games later in the month. 

Musa has fallen out of favour at Leicester City under new coach Craig Shakespeare who is in charge of the team in interim capacity following the dismissal of former boss Claudio Ranieri.


Ranieri reportedly lost his job after senior players questioned his decision to start the Nigerian ahead of Demarai Gray in their 1-2 UEFA Champions League loss to Sevilla in the first leg of their round of 16 clash at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Liverpool levelled the tie when Bruno Soriano put through his own goal under pressure from Sturridge, who scored the second goal in the 63rd minute before helping to tee up Adam Lallana for a late strike that completed a 3-1 aggregate win.

It took Liverpool into their first continental final since the 2006-07 Champions League, preserving Jurgen Klopp's hopes of finishing his first season as manager with both a trophy and a place in Europe's elite competition next season.
