OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR THURSDAY 1 MAY 2014 - "HOW PREPARED ARE YOU?" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR THURSDAY 1 MAY 2014 - "HOW PREPARED ARE YOU?" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE
MEMORY VERSE: Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

READ: MATTHEW 25:1-2
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

MESSAGE

Wisdom has been described as the right application of knowledge. This is reflected in a person’s active and constant preparation for success. A wise man prays when others play, fasts when others feast and plans when others loaf around doing nothing. There is no gainsaying the fact that spiritual and physical success depends on active and constant preparation. One who fails to plan has already planned to fail. How prepared are you?

A study of the scriptures will reveal many ingredients for active and constant preparation. These include determination, endurance, seriousness and faithfulness. Determination is an indispensable requirement for spiritual and physical success. This is resolution and firmness of purpose. It takes determination to be successful in life, business, marriage and ministry. How determined are you? Added to determination is endurance.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Tuesday 1 April 2014 "VESSEL OF HONOUR" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Tuesday 1 April 2014 "VESSEL OF HONOUR?" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE
Memory Verse: 2 Timothy 2:21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Read: 2 Timothy 2:20-21

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Message

Our God is a God of purpose and plan. He does not do anything just for the sake of doing it. When He wanted to create man in Genesis 1:26 He said:
“...Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
Also, when God sent His only begotten Son to the world, it was for this purpose:
”…for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21c
In the same vein, when God saved you and called you to Himself, it was for a purpose. You are not in Church just to add to the numbers. Every child of God must find out the purpose of God for his or her life within the community of believers. Also, every child of God must ensure that he or she is qualified to perform such duties as required of honourable vessels. While some vessels are shameful and ignoble, there are others that are glorious and majestic. The striking thing about this truth is that it is inevitable to have both honourable and shameful vessels in the Church! The task before every sincere child of God is to ensure that he or she is a vessel of honour.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Monday 31 March 2014 "SHEPHERD OR WOLF?" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For  Monday 31 March 2014 "SHEPHERD OR WOLF?" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE
Memory Verse: 1 Peter 5:2
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
Read: Lamentations 4:1-5
1 How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.
2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
3 Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
4 The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.
5 They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.

Message

Our Bible reading for today is a grim lamentation of Prophet Jeremiah. It concerns both the spiritual and physical state of affairs of the people of God of his time. This state of affairs sadly reflects the current state of affairs of God’s people in our time. The Bible says that all these were written as examples for those upon whom the ends of the world are come (1 Corinthians 10:11). This state of affairs is therefore indicative of the times we live in; these are the end-times. Let us learn one or two lessons from this lamentation to deliver our soul from impending doom. In this end-time, many pastors and preachers are no longer building with precious stones on the Sure Foundation – Jesus Christ. Rather, they are building with rubble, i.e. the philosophy of men and modern ideologies in order to make Christianity “intelligible” to a 21st century audience.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR FRIDAY 28 MARCH 2014 "YOU ARE A CARETAKER." BY PASTOR E. E. ADBOYE

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR FRIDAY 28 MARCH 2014 "YOU ARE A CARETAKER." BY PASTOR E. E. ADBOYE

Memory Verse : Psalm 127 : 3. Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

READ : PSALM 127 : 3 - 5.
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Message

The scripture in today’s Bible reading establishes one fundamental truth that all parents must accept: God owns all children. God laboured to create man, both male and female. He then pronounced His blessing upon them that they should be fruitful and multiply, so that they would reproduce after their own kind. The product of the union of the man and woman whom God created therefore became His own reward! It then follows that any man or woman who claims to own a child is exhibiting ignorance because they do not even have an idea of how the child was formed in the womb.
A case in point with respect to this principle is the story in Exodus 2 : 9b where the daughter of Pharaoh said :
“Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages.”

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Tuesday 25 March 2014 "THE PEACE OF GOD" BY PASTOR E. EA. ADEBOYE

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Tuesday 25 March 2014 "THE PEACE OF GOD" BY PASTOR E. EA. ADEBOYE

Memory Verse: Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Read: Philippians 4:4-8
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Message
There is nothing tangible that can be achieved in an organisation, family or mind without a peaceful atmosphere. This is why when the world was characterised with chaos in Genesis 1:1-3, the first thing God did was to restore peace to the chaotic world. I pray that the peace of God will be your portion today in Jesus’ Name. There are factors that can guarantee peace in the life of an individual, particularly a child of God. One of them is contentment. 1 Timothy 6:6&10 says that:
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
Many people lack peace because they are not contented with what they have.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Friday 21 March 2014 "SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

Memory Verse: 2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Read:
Luke 8:38-40
38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,
39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

Message

There is one great sin of omission that contemporary followers of Jesus Christ are guilty of. We enjoy God’s grace, forgiveness, healing, breakthrough, peace and joy but fail to share the good news with others so that they may become beneficiaries of the benevolence of the Almighty God. We tend to take interest in staying in our beautiful cathedrals. When we are sent to go out and pioneer Churches in rural areas where people are in need of the gospel, we see it as punishment! We tend to enjoy listening to powerful, motivational sermons from our fathers in the Lord and their associates – tapping from their anointing on daily basis but refusing to go and share part of what we have received. What a crime of omission.
Our Bible reading reveals one fundamental obligation of every genuine Christian which unfortunately, many children of God do not pay close attention to. A demoniac encountered Jesus Christ in this story and immediately fell in love with Jesus and His company. This man wanted to stay with Jesus, but He commissioned him to go and spread the good news of his deliverance among his people. This is exactly what our Lord expects of us as His followers. This injunction however, does not encourage forsaking Jesus Christ to become independent or to begin to do whatever we like; Jesus spoke against such attitude in John 15:4-5. In Mark 16:15b He also said:

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Thursday 20 March 2014 "THE WAY OF ESCAPE" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

Memory Verse: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Acts 2:21

Read: Matthew 24:29-30

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Message

The Bible predicts that a lot of problems and calamities will befall the world as the judgment day approaches. For example, Prophet Joel in Joel 2:30-31, predicted that the Lord will show divers wonders in the cosmos and on earth:

“And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ also did not hide this reality from us, as we read in today’s Bible passage. The apostles also were not kept in the dark concerning the pending doom that is to come upon the earth and its inhabitants. Peter in 2 Peter 3:10 wrote that:

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
The fact therefore is: there shall be tribulation.

The question then is: “Is there no way of escaping these calamities since the word of the Lord cannot but come to pass?” We may need to ask another question and that is: “What can one do to escape these inevitable disasters that are not only gathering momentum but are already here with us?” Glory be to God Almighty, who is full of tender mercies and loving kindness. He provides a way of escape in Joel 2:32a:

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered:”

The onus therefore is on us to cry to him for pardon if we do not want to be part of the terrible happenings in these last days. How then should we call upon the Lord? We should call upon the Lord in repentance and holy living. Every man and woman, boy and girl must repent to escape from the wrath to come. The Bible in 2 Peter 3:11 says that:
“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,”

Prayer Point:

Father, I don’t want to perish with the world. Help me to live right, and spare me the affliction of the ungodly.

Afghanistan President frees 65 inmates from Parwan prison over strong U.S. objections

Afghanistan released 65 accused militants from a former U.S. prison on Thursday despite protests from the American military, which says the men are Taliban fighters who will likely return to the battlefield to kill coalition and Afghan forces.
The release had been ordered by President Hamid Karzai several weeks ago, after his government took over the prison from U.S. troops.
The decision had prompted angry denunciations from Washington and strained relations between the two countries ahead of the year-end withdrawal of most international combat troops. U.S. forces in Afghanistan say the men have the blood of international and Afghan soldiers on their hands.
The prisoners were freed just after 9 a.m. from the Parwan Detention Facility near Bagram Air Field, about 28 miles north of Kabul, prison chief Gen Faroq Barekzai Bagram told CBS News.
Maj. Nimatullah Khaki, a prison spokesperson, says they boarded a bus to leave the facility, laughing and smiling.
In a statement Thursday, the U.S. Embassy in Kabul called the release "deeply regrettable."
"Releasing these individuals is contrary to Afghanistan’s commitment in our 2012 Memorandum of Understanding to take all necessary steps to ensure that detainees do not pose a continuing threat to Afghanistan, the international community or the United States," the statement said.
"The Afghan government bears responsibility for the results of its decision.  We urge it to make every effort to ensure that those released do not commit new acts of violence and terror, and to immediately bring to justice any who do so."

The U.S. has argued for the detainees to face trial in Afghan courts - citing strong evidence against them, from DNA linking them to roadside bombs to explosive residue on their clothing - but Kabul has cited insufficient proof to hold them.
Karzai has referred to the Parwan prison as a "Taliban-producing factory" where innocent Afghans are tortured into hating their country.
The U.S. military late Wednesday night issued a strongly worded statement condemning the then-imminent release, which it said would include detainees directly linked to attacks that have killed or wounded 32 U.S. or coalition personnel and 23 Afghan security personnel or civilians.
Among those who were expected to walk free Thursday morning were Mohammad Wali, who the U.S. military says is a suspected Taliban explosives expert who allegedly placed roadside bombs targeting Afghan and international forces. The military said Wali had been biometrically linked to two roadside explosions and had a latent fingerprint match on another improvised explosive device, as well as testing positive for explosives residue.
Others in the group include Nek Mohammad - who the U.S. says was captured with extensive weapons, and a man identified as Ehsanullah, who is claimed to have been biometrically matched to a roadside bomb and who tested positive for explosives residue.
The U.S. military had formally disputed the prisoners' release, but an Afghan review board had effectively overruled those challenges.
The detainees' release has been in the works for weeks, and comes as Karzai's government has taken an increasingly hostile tone toward the U.S. ahead of the withdrawal of NATO combat troops at the end of 2014.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Thursday 30 January 2014 "SECRETS OF OVERWHELMING BLESSINGS"

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Thursday 30 January 2014 "SECRETS OF OVERWHELMING BLESSINGS"

Memory Verse: Deuteronomy 28:1
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.

Read: Proverbs 11:24-25

24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

Messages

God wants you to have overwhelming blessings; blessings that you will have and you will say it is enough. Having such blessings - the type that God gives, depends on what you hear and on what you see.
Also, to be overwhelmingly blessed depends on how you go about acting on what you hear and see. Hearing well, seeing well and doing what you hear and see well depends on God.
It is He alone who can give the grace to hear, see and do well. This is why it is very important and urgent too for whosoever wants God’s type of blessing which does not include sorrow to be born of God (John 3:3). Indeed God wants you to be the head and not the tail. He wants you to be above the principalities of poverty and all forms of suffering that come with it. In 3 John 2 He said:

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

It took a long time before some people accepted the truth that God is interested in the prosperity of His children. Many still have not come across or accepted this truth even today.

There are several people today that God wants to bless, but they are not yet ready for the blessing because they have not heard the correct teaching concerning godly blessings as clearly written in Deuteronomy 28. This is just like many people today, who ordinarily would have loved to live holy lives, but because they hear all the time that it does not matter how they live their lives, that once they are born-again they are on their way to heaven, they live a lifestyle that has shipwrecked their faith.

What this people are hearing is determining their destination after this life. Beloved, if you have been taught that tithing is an Old Testament practice and you ignore the commandment of God in Malachi 3:10, then you have sentenced yourself to perpetual penury.
Know that the condition for God’s blessings is diligent obedience to biblical instructions as His eternal truth for all ages. This is why you must hear well and see well in order to do well for God to open His treasury of blessings upon you. This is why every child of God must make sure he or she fellowships in a Bible believing Christian assembly where they will be taught to practice godliness without compromise.
My prayer for you is that the truth that will take you to your next level of prosperity will be unfolded to you in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point:

Father, please open my eyes and my ears to the secrets of overwhelming blessings in your word and help me to be diligent enough to do accordingly in Jesus’ Name.

CHAN: MARK, GLO CHARGE EAGLES TO BEAT BLACKS STARS

Ahead of today’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) semi-final clash between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Black Stars of Ghana, Senate President David Mark has enjoined Nigerians to pray for Eagles’ victory over their opponents. Senator Mark in a goodwill message to the Coach Stephen Keshi-led officials and players yesterday, urged them to re-enact the team spirit and winning streak that have seen them thus far.

He reminded Nigerians that” all that the Eagles needs now is support and prayers from all of us. The boys have demonstrated the determination and strong will to deliver. I am sure they would do the nation proud”. Senator Mark reminded the Eagles and their officials of the nation’s hope on them, adding that government on its part will live up to the responsibility in terms of adequate welfare.

The National Assembly on its part, he assured will continue to provide adequate appropriation for the overall development of sports the country.

Also yesterday, telecommunications giant and leading sponsor of football in Nigeria, Globacom called on the Super Eagles to go all out and do the nation proud by qualifying for the finals of the ongoing CHAN in South Africa. In a statement yesterday, Globacom commended the fighting spirit of the Nigerian players and tasked the technical crew to evolve ways to motivate the team to go all the way.

“The resilience of the Eagles and their coaching crew in the face of odds is worth commending, especially after the team came back to win the quarter final match against Morocco. “We reckon with the great fighting spirit which the team has so far demonstrated, especially against South Africa and Morocco, and we believe that such spirit will help the team to achieve the ultimate goal of not only qualifying for the Finals but lifting the trophy as well,” Globacom added.

Globacom praised the coaching crew led by Stephen Keshi, adding that “We have confidence in the team that they will not fail this great nation,” the statement said.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL For Wednesday 29 January 2014 "THE PRESENT HELP IN TIME OF NEED" BY PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

Memory Verse: Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Read: Matthew 17:24-27

Mat 17:24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?

Mat 17:25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

Mat 17:26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.

Mat 17:27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

Messages

The Lord is the great provider. He has provided for numerous people before and He will provide for the needy again and again. In John 6:5-13, we read of how the Lord provided food for a multitude. He can provide for your family as well. God’s provision takes different forms. In this case, that which was available - a small meal, was multiplied supernaturally as it was shared. After everybody had eaten, there were twelve baskets of extra food left over. There are times He provides by creative miracles - bringing into existence what was not available before. The case of money from the mouth of a fish as we read in today’s Bible reading is a very good example.

I have always believed that in every man’s life, there is a river with a fish in it. I implore you to take soul winning seriously because there is somebody somewhere waiting to be witnessed to, in whose hands the Lord has deposited resources that will meet some kingdom needs.

By the grace of God, the Lord has enabled me to catch some fishes for him, who in turn He is using to meet some of His needs. Those whom the apostles won to Christ brought everything to the apostles’ feet for distribution among the saints. God loves you so much that you don’t have to beg to possess anything. You will enjoy a deep sense of freedom when you realise that everything you need is in God’s hands and that he can direct it to you as He pleases.

During our annual convention a few years ago, I completely ran out of money because we usually feed the participants whose number we normally could not determine in order to draw up a specific budget. It was on a Thursday of the convention week which was to last till Sunday and we had completely run out of money. My wife ran to me and said, “Darling, we need N5,000 now”. I told her to go and come back to me later. After she left, I said “Almighty God, you heard that; I need N5,000 now”. Some minutes after the prayer, a man came and said, “I was just driving past and saw the activities going on here.
I didn’t know so much is going on here. Next, year, I would like to be a part of it.” As he turned to go, he dipped his hands into his pocket and gave me an envelope which I eagerly opened to find N1,000 in it. I was encouraged and told God that “We have N1,000 down, now it is N4,000 to go!” Shortly after that, two young people in the Church came with envelopes in their hands and handed them to me. I found N2,000 in each of them.

This was how the Lord met that immediate need. I pray that before the end of today, the need that woke you up from your sleep shall be met by the Present Help in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point:

Father, I thank you because you are the Present Help in the time of need. Please meet me at the point of my needs today in Jesus’ Name.

GOFAMINT VICTORY MONTH PRAYER POINTS FOR DAY 28; UNPRECEDENTED BREAKTHROUH FOR ALL GOFAMINT BRANCHES IN AFRICA

THE GOSPEL FAITH MISSION INTERNATIONAL (GOFAMINT)

DAY 28: WEDNESDAY 29TH JANUARY 2014

TEXTS: PSALMS 19:3-4, 20:2

FOCUS: UNPRECEDENTED BREAKTHROUH FOR ALL GOFAMINT BRANCHES IN AFRICA

INSIGHT FOR EFFECTIVE PRAYING

There is no country where the Gospel cannot prosper for there is no place God can be restricted. All we need is God’s presence in all our branches. Psalms 19:3–4:
“[There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun”.
God is able to do it again by kindling the fire of revival, doing wonders, healing people and opening their hearts to salvation through Christ our Savior.
Signs and wonders are keys to unprecedented breakthrough, to open a new place and operate with high hand’s of God.
John 4:48: Then said Jesus unto him, “Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.”
Jesus promised His Apostles signs and wonders as they embarked on soul-winning in the world around them.
Mark 16:17: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues”
The apostles prayed for signs and wonders Acts 4:29 – 30. Evangelist Philip brought great deliverance and joy to the city of Samaria through signs and wonders (Acts 8:5 – 8)
LET US PRAY
1.     Father, let the light of gospel continue to shine in greater dimension in Africa.
2.     Where there is road block for GOFAMINT in any Africa countries, make, a way for Your Church in Jesus’ Name.
3.     Father, give every GOFAMINT spokesman in any Africa countries diplomatic Connection to the men that matter in the country who will use their positions to help the Church (GOFAMINT).
4.     Let GOFAMINT be favored in all African countries wherever branches of the Church are located.
5.     God, let Your presence abide with all GOFAMINT Churches in Africa.
6.     All the ministers sent out, in Jesus name, receive now Apostolic anointing to do greater things for God throughout the continent of Africa.
7.     Let great healing and deliverance begin now, anywhere GOFAMINT is located in Africa.
8.     Let GOFAMINT in African Countries become miracle centres in Jesus’ name.
9.     Father, let GOFAMINT be established in all African countries where her presence are not known yet in Jesus’ name.
          Make the following prophetic declarations:
10.    GOFAMINT in Africa, you will increase.
GOFAMINT in Africa, you will breakthrough.
GOFAMINT in Africa, you will rule your world.
GOFAMINT in Africa, you will build great army for God.
GOFAMINT in Africa, you will have more than enough to do God’s work.
GOFAMINT in Africa, your ministers shall be strong and faithful.
