The ongoing military clampdown on media houses especially the print media is nothing but a very good way to kill the media and hence silence the people's voice. The military force in the live of any nation cannot be taken for a ride because they help protect the territorial integrity of the nation. They help in preventing external forces which may tend to wage war against the nation. The military are usually for external defence constitutionally. Sometimes, our realities remind us of the pain of others. My reality as a mother is that I get to see my daughter every day, while the reality of the mothers of the kidnapped 234 Chibok girls is that they don’t even know where their daughters are.

I looked at my daughter and tears came to my eyes that some mothers have the privileges of seeing their kids on a daily basis while the mothers of the kidnapped girls can only console themselves with memories

UPDATE: ASUP, COEASU Plans Protest On Tuesday In Abuja

There appears to be no end in sight for students of polytechnics and colleges of education to return to school as the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) announced plans to embark on a peaceful protest in Abuja on Tuesday.

At a joint news conference in Abuja on Sunday, the National President of the ASUP, Dr Chibuzor Asomugha and the Abuja chapter chairman of COEASU, Dr Ahymed Lawal, criticised the Federal Government’s refusal to implement agreements reached with the unions in order to suspend the indefinite strike.
