Progress report on the Social Investment Programmes (SIPs) - Osinbajo

The National Home Grown School Feeding scheme, part of our Social Investment Programmes has kicked off in Anambra this past December, in collaboration with the state government. The children have been feeding and enjoying their healthy, well prepared meals.

Generally, the Homegrown School Feeding programme, which is one of the Social Investment plans of the Buhari presidency, is driven through community participation where residents in the community are engaged as cooks to provide feeding services. Also the programme leverages on the agricultural produce available within the communities.

The Homegrown School Feeding programme of the Buhari administration will not only boost school enrollment and improve the nutritional status of the pupils, it would also stimulate local farming, while equally creating jobs including the 774 cooks now in gainful employment in Anambra State.

FG adopts 16-point demand on Niger Delta as working document to resolve the crisis in the oil-rich region

The Federal Government may have adopted the 16-point demand presented by Niger Delta leaders, under the aegis of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), as working document to resolve the crisis in the oil-rich region, according to PANDEF.

PANDEF leaders hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for the step.

The leaders hinted, yesterday, that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo spoke about Federal Government’s favourable disposition to the 16-point demand being adopted as working document to end the Niger Delta crisis when he led a high-powered delegation to the region last week, beginning with Delta State.

Osinbajo is expected to visit two other Niger Delta states – Rivers and Akwa Ibom – as part of the peace shuttle to the region.

POLITICAL IMPEACHMENT DRAMA by Solomon Dalung

It is not only unfortunate but also nauseating that Adamawa State lawmakers could stoop so low to be contracted by Godwin Akpabio of Akwa Ibom to embark on such dirty adventure. Imagine how we have degenerated into political stooges of people our leaders laid their lives to liberate them just because of ghana must go. Where is our pride and grace as people with cherished heritage?

I cannot stand for corruption charges against Nyako but who are his accusers, people who swing in stinking corrupt practices will embark on anti corruption crusade? Where is the $20 billion NNPC missing funds or the #10 billion Minister of petroleum Jet charter funds or better still the over #500 billion unaccounted SURE-P funds?
