How Bomb Blast Hits Onitsha South LGA, Anambra, 7 Injured

Bomb explosion has hit the  Kara community which iis very  close to the commercial capital of the south east region of the country, Onitsha, Anambra State. 

Kara community in Ogbaru, a town close to Onitsha in Anambra state was yesterday hit by a bomb blast at around 8:00pm. According to eyewitness reports, the bomb went off in a local restuarant and was detonated by a middle aged man believed to have been from the Northern part of the country.

The eyewitness accounted that: “The bomber is a man who came to the area, mostly populated by Northerners, and asked for a restaurant to eat for N150. He was directed to the eatery where he dropped his bag and asked for food. He ended up taking a few spoons of the food and leaving the place,

Boko Haram Disguised as Preacher, kill scores in Borno

Sunday - Tuesday:
At least 200 people killed by gunmen in military dress in a wave of attacks on six villages in the Gwoza area of Borno state.
Wednesday: Some 45 people killed by militants posing as preachers in Barderi village near Maiduguri, the capital Borno State
Thursday: Two killed in gunfire exchange in village of Madagali, Adamawa state

Boko Haram Islamist militants launched an attack in a village near the north-eastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, killing about 45 people.
Speaking to the BBC, a Survivors said the attackers said they had come to preach, before opening fire on a crowd that gathered. Meanwhile, residents and officials fear at least 200 people were killed in a wave of attacks earlier this week.

The militants came into the village of Barderi, near the University of Maiduguri on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday night, telling people to gather to hear them preach, but then turned the guns on the crowd.

The insurgents have used various tactics to gather residents together when they enter a village before attacking them.

Islamist sects Boko Haram writes Army, threatens to attack Maiduguri barracks

The members of the Boko Haram Sect have written to the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army threatening to attack Maimalari Barracks on Friday (today). Investigations revealed that security had been beefed up in the Maimalari Barracks which has the Headquarters of the 7th Infantry Division of the Artillery Corps, the Ordinance, the Signal and other crucial units of the Army in Maiduguri.
It was gathered that while security agents saw the letter as a ploy to instill fear into security operatives, all efforts were being made to ward off any attack on the foremost military formation in the North-East.  A source said that the insurgents might have compelled one of the drivers to get the letter to the military of their plan to attack the barracks.
