Hello highly beloved new media citizens, fellow Kwarans and Darling Nigerian Compatriots. We hope your preparation towards New Year season has reached an advanced stage. Inspite of the shortage of money, occasioned by the man made recession, brain child by our Leaders, we still have reasons to be thankful to God, the giver of life and strength. 

It is popularly believed that "when there is life, there is hope". God in His divine mercies will give us hope and bright future in His Mighty Name. Amen. It became absolutely necessary that we once again write this piece. We scripted it not because we enjoy criticising our leaders, but because via exposing their foolishness, visionless and lack of foresight, they may take specific actions to address some of the issues we have raised!

THE Buhari presidency has a clear idea on how to execute its agricultural policy to achieve self-sufficiency in food production, and diversify the economy in the process, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

Speaking today at a meeting in his office with a delegation of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, and the Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria, alongside Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu, the Vice President praised rice and wheat farmers, saying “farmers are among the most important people in Nigeria today.”

Prof. Osinbajo said by launching the CBN Anchor Borrowers financing initiative in Kebbi State, while also flagging-off the dry season rice and wheat farming late last year, what the President did was setting-off an agricultural revolution without saying so. He added that President’s action also “showed he had a clear idea of how to execute a formidable agricultural policy.”

CBN Governor: Anchor Borrowers’ Programme, Forex Scarcity Bringing out the Best in Nigerians

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Ifeanyi Emefiele has described the current scarcity of foreign exchange confronting the country as good riddance, saying local production of various essential goods are now being given top priority.

Emefiele said this during a tour of the farmlands cultivated under the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme in Kebbi State over the weekend. He stated that the commitment of stakeholders and the expected output from Kebbi State alone had proved critics of the central bank’s policy measures wrong.

In a statement from the CBN, Emefiele, who was full of praise for the farmers and the Kebbi State Government for their determination and commitment, said that with the level of success attained under the pilot project in the state, in addition to what he saw at the Sunti Golden Sugar Estate in Niger State recently, it was becoming more of a reality that the country can produce enough food to feed itself and even export in no distant future.

In over a month from now, this administration will be one year in office and I am happy to report that in the last 10 and half months, this government has embarked upon several high impact projects; some completed while many are still ongoing. All of these are the outcome of our strategic and methodical plan to deliver a Lagos that is safe, clean and prosperous.

In the last two Quarterly Town Hall meetings, the 1st in West and the 2nd in Central, we have reported the achievements of the government under the various sectors. Today, we will only highlight some key achievements and listen more to you. We want to hear from you so that we can serve you better.
