FULANI HERDSMEN STRIKES IN KWARA; DESTROYED CASSAVA FARMS IN ORO

If the report reaching us is to be reckoned with , some FULANI herdsmen have invaded the large cassava farm belonging to 2 prominent personalities in ORO town with their cows .

According to the source who pleaded anonymity, the FULANI in their characteristic manners used their cows to destroy the beyond repair the Cassava farms belonging to CHIEF FRANCIS AINA AND MR PIUS ADEOJO .

Paris Club: We Didn’t Receive N9b-KWSG

Kwara State Government has described as outright falsehood media reports that it received N9b as its share of the London-Paris Loan Club refund from the federal government.

Reacting on behalf of the government, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu explained that the state government has only received and declared N5billion so far from the federal government but was yet to receive the balance of about N3.7billion.

He emphasized however that the state government is in the process of getting the Federal Ministry of Finance, Abuja to process and release the balance.

KWSG Begins Disbursement of N850m for Community Projects

The Kwara State Government has flagged-off an N850m Community Development Programme with presentation of a N165 million to beneficiary communities in the state.

Speaking at the project launch and cheque presentation to 41 communities at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin, the State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed said the first tranche of the counterpart-funded disbursement was released to promote all round development at the grassroot level.

Represented at the ceremony by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji AbdulWahab Babatunde Yusuf, Governor Ahmed said the aim of the programme was to enable all the 193 wards across the state have improved access to infrastructural services that will bring about development.

Ghost Workers: Kwara State Begins Schools Verification

The Kwara State government has commenced the verification of schools across the state in its on-going authentication of workers and pensioners. The exercise follows the completion of the first phase which involved the use of Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) to verify workers and pensioners.

According to a statement issued in Ilorin on Tuesday by the Kwara State Committee on Personnel Database Development and signed by its alternate Chairman, Alhaji Sola Isiaka Gold, the verification of schools' location across the State started on Wednesday and will end on Friday, April 1, 2016.
