Since the appointment of Femi Adesina as Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, he has applied himself to the job, making frantic efforts to defend the administrative policies of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government. In this exclusive interview with Independent correspondent in the Aso Villa, INNOCENT OWEH, he dismissed allegations by the national assembly leadership that the Presidency was behind its many travails. He also spoke on why the immediate past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan abandoned several Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) signed with foreign allies, which could have translated to more development for the country.
With the gloomy economy, workers are becoming tensed, and recently staff of the Federal Ministry of Finance protested over poor welfare issues, are you aware of their grievances?
I read the explanation from the finance ministry that what they are agitating for had been stopped by the previous government, that explains it. If there would be further explanations, I think its the ministry of finance that would do it, but I think what they have said satisfies me, it suffices for now

Labour Day: I will support whatever increase if the money is available - Gbajabiamila
My best wishes to all workers. Pray next year's labour day will be a celebration of exponential economic growth.
It is perfectly legitimate for workers to ask for review of wages whether in private or public sector everyone is entitled to at least a living wage.Particularly where there is an inflation in the cost of living e.g in electricity tariff.
However this legitimate demand and workers interest has to be measured against want is practical and realizable considering the sharp fall in oil price and government revenue. Governmentt will need to sit with Labour and open up its books in a transparent manner for Labour to see whether or not by the most ingenious financial engineering the demand can be met. I believe when this is done an amicable settlement can be reached.

The Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of the APC in the state, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, who said this in a statement made available to Journalists in Osogbo on Wednesday said the FG should help the states even if they have to source for fund from the external reserves.

Chibok: What Northern Leaders Should Do.... Head to Sambisa Forest
This is the moment to be sincere to ourselves. Please consider this:
Sometime ago, armed robbers made life very unbearable in South-East. The people of South-East gathered themselves (traders, drivers, motorcyclists, workers), all gathered together, some formed ''Bakasi Boys'', etc, and they went around towns and cities, arrested and killed known robbery kingpins and their members. Some sort of peace returned in South-East.
Also, in South-East, to tackle kidnapping. the APGA govt under Obi and now Obiano initiated a policy that if anyone is caught as kidnapper, his/her houses must be demolished, and govt will take ownership of all his/her properties. Many kidnappers have been flushed out and their houses destroyed.
