Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded to the outgoing US administration’s efforts to provoke conflict through new sanctions in what some are calling the “most embarrassing” way possible for US President Barack Obama.
On Friday, the Kremlin responded to US sanctions imposed on Thursday by declaring that they “will not resort to irresponsible ‘kitchen diplomacy,’” and reiterated their hopes to work toward a better relationship with the US when President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
“While we reserve the right to take reciprocal measures, we’re not going to downgrade ourselves to the level of irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy,” Putin announced. “In our future steps on the way toward the restoration of Russia-United States relations, we will proceed from the policy pursued by the administration of D. Trump.”

President Obama announces additional 250 special ops forces to Syria
US President Barack Obama announced on Monday that an additional 250 special operations forces will be sent to Syria in the coming weeks in a speech in Hannover, Germany, in an effort to stem the influence and spread of so called Islamic State.
"Just as I approved additional support for Iraqi forces against ISIL [another acronym for IS], I've decided to increase US support for local forces fighting ISIL in Syria,” remarked Obama.

Britain Will Never Give In To Terrorism - Cameron
David Cameron tells Sky News that Britain will not pay ransoms for kidnapped British hostages
British PM David Cameron has condemned the "sickening and brutal" murder of US journalist Steven Sotloff by a man he said appears to be British. The PM told the Commons the ordeal of a British hostage understood to be held by the same group of Islamic State (IS) militants was "unimaginable".
In a video showing the purported murder of Mr Sotloff, the killer showed the hostage, described as British. Mr Cameron said: "This country will never give in to terrorism. Our opposition to ISIL (Islamic State) will continue at home and abroad.
"It makes no distinction between cultures, countries and religions. There is no way to appease it; the only way to defeat it is to stand firm and to send a very straightforward message. A country like ours will not be cowed by these barbaric killers. If they think we will weaken in the face of their threats, they are wrong; it will have the opposite effect."

APC - Pres. Jonathan embarrassed Nigeria by waiting to be goaded by Malala to meet Chibok parents
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as a compound embarrassment the fact that it took 17-year-old girl-child education campaigner, Pakistani Malala Yousafzai, to visit and convince President Goodluck Jonathan to agree to a meeting with representatives of the parents of the kidnapped school girls.
''President Jonathan, who has already embarrassed himself and the entire people of Nigeria by his inexplicable failure to visit Chibok since the girls were abducted over 90 days ago, has compounded the embarrassment and insulted Nigerians by waiting for Malala to goad him to meet with the girls' parents, not in Chibok but in Abuja,'' the party said in a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

President Jonathan Accepts Israeli Netanyahu offers to Join the Search for Chibok Girls
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday offered to help Nigeria search for hundreds of Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped by extremist Islamist group Boko Haram. A statement from the premier’s office said that Netanyahu, currently on an official visit to Japan, made the proposal in a telephone call to Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Israel expresses its deep shock at the crime against the girls,” it quoted Netanyahu as saying. “We are prepared to help in locating the girls and to fight the cruel terror which has struck you.”
