The Summary:
Four Agreements between the Governments of China and Nigeria, covering the following areas: Economic Cooperation, Aviation Cooperation, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, and Renminbi (RMB) Transactions$15 million in agricultural assistance to Nigeria for the establishment of 50 agricultural demonstration farms across Nigeria
200 Nigerian companies and businesses travelled to China – at their own expense – along with the government delegation, to participate in a China-Nigeria Business Forum, and other engagements.
600 NEW educational scholarships to be given by the Government of China to Nigerians, annually (100 currently awarded)
1000 Nigerians to be given technical and vocational training annually
$2 billion loan facility from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, to Dangote Cement, to fund the construction of two cement plants
$6 billion offered as counterpart funding for government infrastructure projects by the Chinese government. President Buhari directed that technical committees be immediately established to agree on the projects to be funded, to fast-track implementation.
$6 billion in investment agreements signed between Nigerian and Chinese companies, focused on infrastructure development (power, housing), mining, and agriculture.
