The text of this message implies that, though the young lion whose father is the king of animals in the bush may suffer hunger but those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing.

I believe you are one of them and if you are not yet, I think the time has come that you should become one of us.

The scripture is replete with names of those who sought the Lord in their life time and who did not lack any good thing of life. Let me mention some essential necessities of life which those who seek the Lord will not lack, which include clothing, shelter, job, money (to buy what you need, not just what you want) food e.t.c

MESSAGE

Failure is defined as lack of success in a set objective or a loss of ability to function normally. Failure occurs when an event doesn’t accomplish its intended purpose. Failure usually ends up as a double tragedy because when a project fails, you lose your investment on the project and afterwards you must pay for the future repercussions of that failure. In most cases, the repercussions of failure are far-reaching and irreversible. With this perspective, it is clear that failure is something of inestimable loss. However, failure always disguises itself as a normal everyday event. If you carelessly give your consent without discernment, such a seemingly normal event may develop into a serious tragedy. So it was when Sarah innocently offered her maid to Abraham to conceive a child in Genesis 16:3, and when Jacob suggested to his brother Esau to trade his birthright for pottage in Genesis 25:31. These are examples of ordinary events that resulted into terrible tragedies. I pray that you will not commit any blunder that will lead to terrible tragedies in your life in Jesus’ Name.

Faith: HOW DO YOU REPENT FROM SIN?

Scripture: I John 1:8-9

“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 

Imagine that a well-known preacher has just spoken at your church service. The preacher is wearing nice clothes, and people are crowding around him so they can shake his hand.


Then just a few feet away, you spot a criminal who has recently been released from prison. He is poorly dressed, smells worse than he looks, and no one wants to go near him or talk to him.

As the preacher talks to his admirers, you are surprised to hear him say things like: “I am a really good person, because I preach really good messages and never break any of God’s rules.” “People should follow my example. I do not break the law, like that bad criminal over there.”

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Finding Our Strength

Quoted Verse: “It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. " 2 Samuel 22:33 .

Message: Years ago, there was an advert for a cassette tape series that promised to dramatically improve one's memory in just a few hours; it sounded intriguing. Our mailboxes are filled with ads like that because people are interested in quick fixes and overnight miracles. The Israelites were no exception. Many times in the history of ancient Israel, we see them turning to Egypt for security instead of trusting God. But through the prophet Ezekiel, the Lord clearly declared just where the power lay. In Ezekiel 29:6-7, God said to Egypt: " All the people of Egypt will discover that I am the Lord, for you collapsed like a reed when Israel looked to you for help. Israel leaned on you, but like a cracked staff, you splintered and stabbed her in the armpit. When she put her weight on you, you gave way, and her back was thrown out of joint."

 The Lord was telling them that if God's people were looking for a strong ally to protect them from their enemies, they should look to God Himself. Brother or sister, man or woman of God, you and i need the same warning today. All too often we are attracted to the promise of gimmicks, programs and schemes. We need to be reminded that the latest book, tape, CD,DVD or method will not equipp us to witness for Christ.

MIRACULOUS HEALING TODAY, Is it from God?

The world has really change today, People are no more seeking for salvation or kingdom of God but seek for miracles and deliverance. God ask us to seek for His kingdom,so that others shall be added unto us. 

Some men of God(Faith healers) has taken advantage of it, charging consultation fee before seeing them, some sell holy oil and water, emotional rallies are held at which sick people may leap from their wheelchairs or toss away their crutches and claim to be healed, restoring mad men back. 

Those who perform such cures mostly belong to different religions, ( to me) and they often accuse one another of being renegade,false or pagan. The question,then,may be asked, Does God work miracles through multitudes of often conflicting channels? After all the Bible says " God is a God, not of disorder, but of peace"(1 Corinthians 14:33) , so are such miraculous healings really of God?

At the Feast of Tabernacles, Jesus stood and cried out, saying: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37-39). However, no one seemed to be interested in what Jesus was offering. No one asked him for a drink of this so-called living water.

Unwanted water

“Clarus, which water was he talking about?” “He said living water.” “What kind of water is that?” “Frankly, Gringory, I don’t know.” “Is it as good as Coca-cola?” “Actually, I think he was talking about spiritual water.” “What do you do with spiritual water? Can you serve it to your friends at a party?” “I doubt it.” “I don’t think Jerusalem is ready for that kind of water. Of what consequence is living water when what you want is Coca-Cola?”

God says: “My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns- broken cisterns that can hold no water.” (Jeremiah 2:13).

According to Jesus, there are two types of water: natural water and living water. Of the two, the prescribed choice is living water. Jesus says: “Everyone who drinks of (natural) water shall thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” (John 4:14). What precisely is Jesus’ living water? It is the Holy Spirit.

Message

Some years ago, I was invited to be the guest speaker at a garden party in an exclusive, highbrow residential area. Because I arrived at the venue quite early, I was made to sit for a while in the house of my host. The house was an exquisite parade of wealth and splendour. I had never seen such brazen display of wealth in my life. The house contained six living rooms. I was kept in one of them. From where I was, I could see five other living rooms in ascending order of affluence. It was as if prosperity was on parade. After surveying the entire environment, I decided to change the topic of my message. Initially, I had wanted to preach on the topic: “Your miracle is around”. I concluded: “These people do not need a miracle”. 
I decided to change my topic to: “What the Lord has done for me, I cannot tell it all” or “Bless the Lord, O my soul”. While I was still thinking of changing the message, the Holy Spirit nudged me: “Son, these people need a miracle more than you could ever imagine”. With every opportunity the Lord gives me to minister to men and women of substance, I have always leant that even they need miracles. All human beings need miracles irrespective of race, status or social standing. The Bible is a complete book. There is no aspect of human life that is not addressed in God’s word. There is something in the Bible for all.

The story in today’s reading centres on an eminent personality. Jairus was a man of uncommon achievement by all standards. He was a man of whom it could be said: “he has made it in life”. In spite of his great achievements, however, he had one problem which money could not solve. His only daughter was at the verge of death. In his seemingly hopeless situation, Jairus sought help from the Lord and the Lord met him at the point of his need. The Lord will meet you at the point of your need today in Jesus’ Name. 
Like the case of Jairus, the man whose house I described above had one problem money could not solve. After the programme, the man pleaded passionately with me to pray over the case of his son who was then a drug addict. The fact that the man was respected in the society did not grant him immunity from the storms of life. Before the intervention of God, this son was busy ruining the fortunes of the family; but I thank the Lord who touched him. The good news is that he has remained responsible and sensible since he received the touch of God. If you feel you don’t need a miracle for yourself, you may need it for your family and children. It is possible that you may not need a miracle for your children but someone else who is precious to you might need a miracle. I pray that that your long-awaited miracle shall come to you today in Jesus’ Name. Only believe, and you shall see the glory of God.

Prayer Point:

Father, give me a miracle today that will turn my life around for the better in Jesus’ Name.

Many people love the guidance of the Holy Spirit but are not ready for His
leadership, we should be ready for both “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, [that] shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come”.

His leadership is to teach, correct and rebuke us where necessary. These will only make us to be the person He desires us to be.

Anybody who is enjoying the leadership of the Holy Spirit and His guidance will hear from God before it happens, he will see what others do not see, he will not fall into the error of Satan, doing God’s work will be easy for him because he will work with the master plan of God.

Holy Spirit, He is God in Spirit, this enables Him to be everywhere helping the believers to achieve the original purpose and plan of God.

We should learn how to invite Him into our lives, worship Him and learn to listen to His gentle voice.

LET US PRAY

1.     God the Holy Spirit, take Your abode in me.

2.     Father, baptize me afresh with Your Spirit.

3.     Holy Spirit of God, direct the rest of my life for Your glory.

4.     In Jesus name, I receive fresh fire of God.

5.     Holy Spirit, always lead my life as You wish.

6.     Endow Your gifts upon my life in Jesus name.

7.     Holy Spirit, please; let me hear when You speak.

8.     Holy Spirit, uphold me not to sin against You.

9.     Holy Spirit, always do Your work through me.

10.   Those who need baptism of the Holy Spirit should come before the altar for ministration.

Message

God is at the core of the creation of Heaven and Earth. Without Him, there could never have been anything. The opening verses of Genesis 1 reveal the activities of God in making creation suitable for man’s habitation. 
Unlike many ancient and modern writers who assume what they do not know about creation, Moses, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit began his account of creation in Genesis with conviction and plain claims. 
By revelation, he knew God was behind creation and he stated it plainly as that. This kind of accurate knowledge that takes a writer back to several years before his time could only come by revelation. 

Some theologians say that the earth had been in that disorderly state for several millions and billions of years and scientists also claim that archaeological discoveries reveal prehistoric matters that had existed before man was created to exercise dominion over creation. Whatever it was, the point is that with God, there can be a new beginning no matter how far back the record of disorderliness and darkness in anybody’s life may go. 

The most important period in your life begins when God gives you a new beginning. 

The wastage of the past; the crisis of the past and the darkness of the past will give way for a new beginning when God commands a new sunrise in your life. 
I decree on behalf of my Daddy in heaven, that every disorderliness and darkness in your life will give way in Jesus’ Name.

Before God commanded the light to be, the Bible says the earth was void and without form, and darkness reigned over creation. This state was totally against what God had in mind for creating the heavens and the earth, but this problem was not beyond redemption. 

We must let this fact sink into our minds: that God is still in charge of His universe. The Lord can redesign your life which the enemy may have battered. Your achievements may be nothing to compare with what God had in mind about you from the beginning and darkness may be reigning supreme in your life instead of light.

 God will give you a new beginning because He has control over the entire creation. He is completely in charge. 
Several years ago, one of my children went to America to study. There was a change in government and the new government refused to continue with his scholarship. Things got so bad for him and his family that there was no food in the house, but God Almighty who will always be in charge sent some Americans who were going on house-to-house evangelism to them. 
On realising that this couple and their set of twins were starving, they did not only provide food but also a job for his wife. 
Today, the family has at least two houses that I know about in America. This season shall mark the beginning of new things in your life in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point:

Father, speak your creative words into my life and turn it around for good in Jesus’ Name.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 

Message

As a born-again Christian, you need to understand and live by the nature of the new creature that you are. This is the key to your victory in this world. One character of your new nature is revealed in Galatians 5:25:

“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts”

Once you belong to Jesus Christ by being born-again, your sinful nature has been crucified. Your nature no longer conforms to that which is controlled by the flesh because you are dead to the flesh. This is further clarified in Romans 8:9-10:

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”

However it does not end there. Armed with this understanding of who you are, you have to conscientiously by faith enforce this victory over the flesh in your mind. 1 Peter 4:1 says:

“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;”

This day-to-day battle of enforcement and resistance will be very “painful”. The flesh is not going to like your stance; but you must let it know that you are dead to it and it cannot rule you. As a matter of compulsion, make no provision for the flesh.

Apart from the flesh being crucified, another character of your new nature is that through Christ, the world is crucified to you and you are crucified to the world (Galatians 6:14). This implies that you are dead to the world. What does this mean? Before we were born-again, we had friends or relations whose company we used to enjoy, people whose opinions mattered a lot to us and influenced us to do lots of things we did not really want to do. Many a times some people are found smoking not because they enjoy smoking, but because they were worried about their friends’ uncomplimentary remarks about their abstinence from such habits. Therefore when their peers smoke, they join them to smoke even though they know that smoking will send them to their untimely death. However, once you are born-again, armed with the mindset that you are dead to the world, such opinions will no longer matter. It does not matter what they say, you are determined to follow Jesus. You will not perish with the world in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point:

Father, thank you for giving me a new life in Christ; please help me to live by this new life till I see you in glory.

INSIGHT FOR EFFECTIVE PRAYING

In our world, the spiritual controls the natural. The earlier the believers know and act on this, the better. Many of those things we see that happen during the daylight  are always being decided and hatched in the spirit realm in the night. Activities in the natural realm are largely controlled in the spiritual realm, either positive or negative.

The incident in Exodus chapter 17 was an example. Joshua the great warrior and the entire host of Israel were engaged in battle by Amalekites’ Army. Surprisingly, as the soldiers went to the battlefield, Moses and his co- ministers went to a different place, which was the mountain of the Lord. There and then, whenever Moses raised his hands up, the Israelites army prevailed but whenever he let his hands down, the enemies prevailed. The raising up of hands typifies prayer. Simply put, Moses was raising up his hand and praying on the mountain. Through the prayer action and inaction on the mountain, the outcome of the battle on the battlefield was being determined.

Unknown to many of us, agents of darkness are busy day and night operating in the dark to determine people’s fate on earth. Sufficeit to say that Christians are not meant to be indolent or inactive, no! We have been instructed to meet our God in the secret place of prayer so that we, in conjunction with God, can determine what will happen in our world. How many of us are conscious of the fact that we can do and undo in prayer? “In God, we can do valiantly”. That is the great opportunity that presents itself to us on a platter of gold this victory month.

When we meet God in prayer, in the secret place, the way we are supposed to do it; things take an upward turn in our lives. We move from natural to supernatural; from human to divine level; from carnality to spirituality; from sickness to healthiness; from victimization to victory; from nobody to somebody; from slavery to dominion etc. That is what we are in for this month, especially today.

LET US PRAY

1.     Thank You, Lord because you are in control of the whole earth and in our individual lives.

2.     Thank You dear Lord, for Your readiness and willingness to meet us at the point of our needs today.

3.     We are here today Lord, whatever is there that may hinder Your presence from us, let the blood of Jesus nullify them.

4.     We stand on the covenant of the blood of Jesus Christ and we ask for Your presence in our lives today in Jesus’ name.

5.         You promised that You will walk and work in our midst, we are here today for that purpose, works in our lives, touch and transform our lives in Jesus’ name.

6.     We have come to the secret place of the Most High today, hover upon us and cover our lives with Your healing and miracle working wings in Jesus’ name.

7.     Dear Lord, release upon my life, Your healing virtue that will destroy any negative work of darkness that might have been deposited into my life in Jesus’ name.

8.     Let Your hand of miracle touch every life that needs Your touch in every area of our lives today in Jesus’ name.

9.     Tokens of evil and weapons of the power of darkness are destroyed in everyone’s life in Jesus’ name.

10.   Let all old and evil things disappear and let new and good things ensue in our individual lives in Your presence today in Jesus’ name.

11.   We command that every bondage in the lives of everyone be loosed in Jesus’ name.

12.   We pray that every evil power that works against anyone’s life among us be broken and all things begin to work together for good in Jesus’ name.

13.   All evil pronouncements and effects of curses be nullified in everyone’s life in Jesus’ name.

14.   Lord, by Your power, change our lives from what it is at present to what it should be in Jesus name.

15.   Let Your anointing that breaks yokes and solves problems come upon our lives in Jesus’ name.

16.   Dear Lord, my life must not remain the same again, I assume Your power and my life embrace Your glory in the mighty name of Jesus.

FOCUS: ENJOYING THE GUIDANCE AND THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON DAILY BASIS

INSIGHT FOR EFFECTIVE PRAYING

Human knowledge and perception in life are limited in scope and operation. With that, what one can achieve or attain is limited.

God knows this and that is why He made a provision for a Counsellor. “And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever. Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know Him; for hedwelleth with you, and shall be in you”  (John 14:16-17).

The Comforter is no other but the Holy Spirit. His purpose of coming to this world was to represent the God-head and assist the believer to fulfill their mandate on earth. With Him, the era of failure is gone. There is no room for excuse of failure in Christian life. Every failure in any area of Christian life can be attributed to the absence of the Holy Spirit. At a point in time in Paul Apostles life, it was failure galore as he expressed it in Romans 7:14-24. The story however changed in his life in the next chapter, Romans chapter 8 which is our Scripture reading today. The more of the Holy Spirit we have in our lives the better. That is what makes our prayer today crucial and pertinent. However, it all depends on how hungry we are.

Let us pray:

1.      Holy spirit of God, we are hungry and eagerly waiting for You today. Manifest Yourself in our midst and fill us to the brim in Jesus’ name.

2.   We confess that we are weak, come and fill us with Your power and turn our lives around  positively in Jesus’ name.

3.   Without You we can do but nothing, meet us and fill our lives with Your power, Holy Spirit, that we may be able to do what we are supposed to do in life in Jesus’ name.

4.   Open our eyes to see Your glory and to walk in the consciousness of Your presence all the days of our lives in Jesus’ name.

5.   Help us to know the way and the will of the Lord more and be committed oh blessed Holy Spirit.

6.   Holy Spirit, we desire a more intimate relationship with You, keep us closer to Yourself in Jesus’ name.

7.   Give us hearing ear and seeing eyes that we may hear You clearly and follow You closely in Jesus’ name.

8.   We dont want to walk alone in the wilderness of this world, guide and lead us as You did to Israelites in the wilderness in those days through the pillar of fire and cloud, dear Holy Spirit.

9.   Help us not to rely on our human wisdom or the arm of the flesh to run the affairs of our lives in Jesus’ name.

10.   Holy Spirit, we need You as the vicar of our Church, work through our ministers that divine will and purpose shall be fulfilled in our Church.

11.    Work in the lives of  all our members and workers that they may be preaching and witnessing wherever and whenever they expected to do so.

12. Help us not to disobey You in important areas of our lives any longer and turn our failures to success in Jesus’ name.

13.    Whatever You want each of us to do, help us to understand and do likewise.

14. Wherever You want each of us to go for You, help us to hear and heed in Jesus’ name.

15.    What is my “Isaac” that You want me to give to You sacrificially? Tell me and help me to give it to You.

16.    Wherever there is any short-coming and short-fall in our lives, Holy Spirit, fill the vacuums with Your fullness.

17. Help me and every member of my family not to grieve You all the days of our lives in Jesus’ name.

18. Grant us the power to fulfil our destiny and our mandates in life in Jesus’ name.
