LATEST UPDATE ON OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE: TROOPS REPELLED ATTACK AND RESCUE 455 ABDUCTED PERSONS

Today (Friday - 04-15-16) In the early hours, some elements of Boko Haram terrorists in 5 gun trucks, motorcycles and 2 Golf cars laden with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from Sambisa forest axis attempted an attack on 121 Task Force Battalion at Pulka. 

According to the Military Spokeperson Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman who is the Acting Director Army Public Relations, the ever alert and vigilant troops rose to the occasion and successfully repelled the attack and killed 7 Boko Haram terrorists, wounded several others and recovered 4 AK-47 rifles, 3 AK-47 rifle magazine and 92 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) belt ammunition. We wish to state that our troops are hale and hearty.

He added that in a related development, troops of 3 Battalion caught a suspected Boko Haram terrorists’ spy near the Battalion Headquarters at Gamboru Ngala.  On interrogation, he confessed that he was sent to spy on the troops from Wulge.

HOW TROOPS CLEAR MORE BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS CAMPS AT HAUSARI, DETONATE IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE - ARMY

In efforts to continually dominate recovered territories and clear all Nigerian territory of Boko Haram vestiges, the advancing troops of 5 Brigade Task Group have on Tuesday cleared 5 more terrorists camps at Hausari and Baranga in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. The troops during and encounter with Boko Haram terrorists at the camps killed 2 terrorists and recovered 2 Dane guns and a Double Barrel gun, while 12 motorcycles abandoned by some fleeing terrorists were destroyed. In addition, a suspected female member of the terrorists group was captured and is currently undergoing interrogation.

It will be recalled that troops of 5 Brigade had some time last month cleared and destroyed twenty terrorists camps at Kerenowa general area.

In a related development, today, troops of 28 Task Force Brigade on patrol between Bitta – Yamteke in Borno State to block Boko Haram terrorists fleeing from Lagaran Fulani to enter sambisa forest, discovered 2 planted Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and successfully detonated them.

We wish to state here that, while striving to stamp out terrorists from Nigerian territory, the troops remain committed to ensuring that they cleared and secure all known Boko Haram terrorists’ camps and enclaves so that no terrorist infiltrates and return to any of the recovered areas.

Islamist Boko Haram Kill Four, Torch Houses In Borno State Village

A group of 30 suspected Boko Haram gunmen in Borno State attacked Azir village in Damboa council area of Borno State early hour of  Saturday. Four residents were murdered, while seven sustained injuries.
Borno  state - Azir village is a community of farmers and herdsmen, located about 107 km South of Maiduguri, the state capital. Boko Haram attackers, armed with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and petrol bombs, also torched several houses and shops before fleeing into the Sambisa forest, East of the village.

HAPPENING NOW: IGP meeting with Zonal AIGs at FHQ #Abuja On How to end Terrorism and Herdsmen Killings

The Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force {IGP}, Mohammed Abubakar is currently in a meeting with Zonal AIGs at Force Headquarters in Abuja brainstorming on challenges of terrorism, herdsmen and farmers clash, and other security challenges facing the country.

The Islamist fundamentalist, Boko Haram Group has refused to dialogue with the federal government with like never to end continuous killing in the North-Eastern states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, attacking both the security personnel and cruel killings of the innocent civilians.

The Fulani Herdsmen in Benue has also claimed many live, with the killing in many villages. Weekend deadly and separate attacks in both Benue and Borno States claimed at least 90 people with many others injured.
