JAMB scraps awaiting O’level results, includes 4th choice

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced that students will no longer be able to secure admission into higher institutions while awaiting their O’level results.
JAMB said this was part of its restructuring in preparation for the 2017 UTME higher institution examination.
This means candidates must sit and obtain the results of either West African Examination Council school examination, WAEC, or National Examination Council, NECO, before admission. The board said this will keep candidates from taking the slots they do not qualify for.

JAMB also introduced a fourth choice of school, but said candidates can apply to only one government-owned university.

THE DIARY OF A NIGERIAN

Hmmm. Where should i start from? The top, middle or bumbum?
Well, anywhere go do.
I had to look for work today. So, i got dressed. You know, i've got to make a kind of 'wow' impression.
Wore my white shirt (thank God for bleach),
put on my black trousers (i had to dye the faded parts),
polished my shoes (thanks to palm oil),
then i crowned the whole look with a black suede blazers (which i borrowed from my paddy).
...
I felt so confident that i was bouncing. In fact, i checked my reflection in every car's window. God saved me. A trailer would have cleared me by the road if not for my Jet Li's jump over the car i was using as a mirror.
...
I never knew the level of unemployment in the country until when i started applying for jobs. Chai! The money our leaders are shooting, ehmm, i mean looting. There is .........
Anyway, after a 10-hour search for job, the closest to a job i could get was a gateman's post. A whole First-class degree holder like me.

Aham Njoku: " Buhari-Tinubu presidential ticket"

Aham Njoku: "Let’s take a close look at that Buhari-Tinubu presidential ticket" via TheScoop on April 25, 2014

A recent front page banner headline of a major national newspaper titled, “APC Inches Towards a Buhari – Tinubu Presidential Ticket”, elicited comments not surprisingly from a few disgruntled elite. The crux of their argument was that in a multi-religious country like Nigeria, to present two persons from the same religious group for the office of the president and his vice was unacceptable. Thanks to Karl Marx, we have always known that if you want to deceive the people tell them about religion. But the level of frustration in Nigeria has risen so high that the masses can no longer be deceived by politicians.
